I was at the game, what an exciting team to root for this year, Cardiac Cats indeed! Tremendous showing by UVM fans as well, super impressed by current students and alumni who traveled down to see the game, it was well worth it.
Timely post - the semifinals are today at 6:30 and 9:00 ET, with the championship match at 3pm ET on Sunday.Wouldn’t call it non-revenue because the crowds have been healthy and I’m guessing tv numbers have been too- I’ve been enjoying the hell out of the NCAA women’s volleyball tourney. Mrs O is a Pitt alum and the Panthers are #1 and look the part. Watched Penn State take a nail biter over Creighton. Good stuff.
Louisville had the eye of the tiger. #1 Pitt falls. Never really in doubt.Louisville is playing out of their minds. Pitt really screwed up the third game and is scrambling now.
It is a strange time in collegiate sports, a kid from Columbia just won the men’s singles tennis individual title, the first Ivy Leaguer to do it in 102 years!Yeah, this was just fantastic. It is just wild that UVM is the national champion. The mind reels!
So far the JUCO one applies only to that player.Since this is the non-revenue thread, not sure where this fits... but are folks tracking the recent changes in NCAA scholarship caps and the decision that years played at JUCO/Community Colleges do not, based on an interim court order, count toward the 4 year NCAA eligibility limit?
College sports are going to change drastically as a result of these two changes, and being a high school kid who wants to play D1 sports is going to wildly change as well.
