I hate to always think this way but one wonders what would happen if Brady had a guy like Bryant or Julio Jones or Antonio Brown to throw to. I know he had Moss but it wasn't even peak Moss. My point is, if he had a guy like this when both were in their primes, he might have even outdone the 2007 season.

In short, Dez Bryant is a beast.

This is why HFA matters, right? Down 21-3, Dallas collapses on the road I think, but playing at home gave them a puncher's chance.

Hate that teams don't go for two there. Need a two at some point and better to know if its good now rather than later.

Awful jam at the line of scrimmage by Randall. Easy free release for Dak and Witten. Can't have that, textbook example of How NOT to Defend.

Yep. Helps dictate your approach.

I think coaches kick the XP until they 'have' to go for 2 because it's psychologically reassuring to 'be within a possession' of the tie. They seem just fine putting the game/season on one play that's, what, 45-55% odds?

They play as if there is extra credit for keeping the game within a score for longer

Yeah, it's always surprised me that literally no team ever goes for the two point conversion first.
I'm with you guys, but, I think the reasoning is that coaches don't want to do anything to throw off the (gulp) momentum. I agree that, in terms of strategy alone, it is indefensible. But, I can kind of get it: scoring a huge TD then following it up with the bad news that you actually still need two scores could be kind of deflating. They're pros and it shouldn't matter but, it might.

I guess the thinking is if you go for it and don't get it, it's officially a two score game. Whereas now, it's a one score game, GB doesn't have a cushion.
But that's exactly why you go for two early, so you know ahead of time whether or not you'll need that second score. If you wait on the two point conversion and then miss it, it could be too late. Knowing as early as possible whether or not you need to score once or twice will make you strategize differently.

What's the consensus around here? Folks rather see Green Bay or Dallas win (assuming the only real rooting interest is who would be a better matchup for the Pats in a Super Bowl)? I'm firmly in the Green Bay camp, because I think their defense is so bad that Brady will put up 40 in his sleep, and our defense will hold them to somewhere less than that. Dallas on the other hand can beat you a bunch of ways.
