Stop, Wibi might think you're serious.

Its okay if you feel the need to lash out over an emotional comment I made in the run up to Superbowl XLIX.  I know you are hurting right now ...

I'm not hurting. It was a light-hearted and made in jest.

I guarantee I feel less "emotional" right now than you did both during the run up to and after the Super Bowl.

I think they ought to raise the banner in Lucas Oil Stadium.  Put those pranksters from MIT on it, they'll figure out how to do it.

This is the same stadium that has Jim Harbaugh who's starter record with the Colts is 20-26 in their "Ring of Honor" at the stadium. Would Colts fans even notice?

I'm for anything that makes Goodell look like an ass at this point. Fly a blimp a la Bart Simpson's "Big Butt Skinner" in the comet episode over Gillette with Goodell's face on it if you can work it out.

Ok here is what should happen, first of all I believe in the NoBradyNoBanner, but this is a huge production by NFLNetwork and NBC. there will be a big pregame concert somewhere, outside in parking lots? Great Woods? Some big event filled with people who can't get into game

Wouldn't it be pissa if the venue was empty?

And how do you think Rapistburger will be able to call signals while 65k chant and sing Goodell Sucks when Pitt has the ball?

Also, can we get a blimp that seats 50 sosh members, has flat screens, catering/bar, and has a sequencing LED display, so that multiple slogans can be shown in rhythm, as to lead cheers in the Razor?

Not only should they wait until Brady comes back to raise the banner, they should scrap Crazy Train as the intro music and go with Ice Cube's "No Vaseline."

Which verse should they use?  The anti-Semitic one, the homophobic ones, the ones about rape, or the transphobic ones?

I'm down for the blimp, though.

Apologies if this addressed elsewhere, but didn't the Pats jack up prices for the opener with the expectation/anticipation there would be a grand ol ceremony? Might be tough to pull the plug on those festivities if that's the case ...

Eh, the intro & first verse would work just fine.

Uh, you do get that this was a joke, right?

I've known the guy who designed this for about 20 years, he even designed custom beer labels for a beer i brewed before my wedding. He's got a lot of cool pieces but i am thinking this one won't have much of a shelf-life once the league sees it.
Now that he's been featured on barstool, Zolak tweeted this pic, and he and Mike from Attleboro (98.5 "celebrity" caller) will be selling these and t-shirts, the NFL is bound to find out quickly.

I think BB will always stress 'No player is bigger than the team' and the Patriots won't do anything special regarding Brady's absence.

You don't think those fans will understand? They also bought tickets with an expectation of seeing their HOF quarterback leading the team. Sometimes things don't go as planned.

You say that phrase when the goals of an individual player are at odds with those of the team. In this case, an outside force is preventing the *team* from celebrating as one. I guarantee you if he put it to a vote, they would unanimously decide to wait or protest in some way...and Belichick would vote right along with them.

I'm in as far as postponing the ceremony. I'd make the pre game stuff as drab as possible, to make the broadcast dull and boring. Then have TB on the screen to get the stadium rocking right before kick off and then as Alvin Mack says "kill them all".

If he's going to be selling them, he'll need to remove the logos.

Yup but he can keep the XLIX just without the Super Bowl trophy and the stadium.

If he tweaked the logos, such as maybe to make Pat Patriot frowning with a tear coming from his eye and the SB logo to resemble a middle finger even more, he'll have a nice parody defense.

Just raise two together in fall 2016 and call it a day.

That would be awesome.  Just get up there on opening night and announce "we're not raising one this year, we're going to raise two next year."

I am sorry if this has been mentioned.
Also sorry if it is considered ridiculous, but:
If the Pats feel they have been truly treated unfairly, they could forfeit the first game. Simply not send the team out to play.
I can't think of a way to send a clearer signal that this is crap and we are not going to take it.

Sure if you want to see Belichick suspended for life.  The hammer they would apply for conduct detrimental to the league would dwarf the current penalties by a large margin.   A better protest would be for the fans to simply not enter the stadium and have the game played (at least for a quarter) in an empty stadium.  Probably nearly impossible to organize in it's entirety, but I would bet you could get a substantial majority of the ticket holders to do it.

I'm sure you're right, but think of the potential for complete mayhem with my plan.  A full stadium and no game...

No, I don't know that I've been to Fenway since Pedroia was called up.  That's awesome though.  I'm listening to Trashwang at work right now, I don't have any problem with any Ice Cube lyrics.

This has been said elsewhere. I think this is suspending the team and the fans for one game. Better: win. Win with Jimmy G, crush everyone with Brady and whatever balls they put out there. Crush crush crush. More superbowls in people's mouths.

No chance you could get a substantial majority of fans to do it.  Maybe 1000 fans.   People spend a shit ton of money for tickets, they're not going to show up late or hang out in the parking lot.

Edit:  But I love a SOSH sponsored blimp idea

In my anger-fueled, irrational reactions to all of this, I would love the Patriots to institute an "Integrity of the Game" video for each home game that shows how the opposing team has bent, broken or ignored the rules, along with the punishment.  Maybe have a "Face of the Game" video for the second half and include all the off-field infractions that tarnish the NFL.  End it with the a rainbow-tailed star, "The More Your Know" screen.

The Steelers up first:  Tomlin's sideline adventure.  Big Ben's troubles down South, and on and on.

Why can't the Pats hold a private ceremony to raise the banner with just the team and the fans, hold a big party at Foxboro before the season starts.  Now I know the logistics would be a nightmare, but I don't think the NFL can stop them.  Then on opening night it's on to 2015.

They could do it at the season ticket holders open practice
