The best thing going into this draft is that the BPA is going to match needs throughout the draft. Added to that, the team has played a great game of poker throughout the lying season. I have no idea who they are going to pick. I would love to see teams jump and take QBs, and Quinnen Williams falls to 6. If that doesn't happen, I'd love to see Christian Wilkins fall to 17. Outside of the names mentioned at 6, I would push hard for Jonah Williams or Devin Bush. I would love for a day two (or day one) pick used on Taylor Rapp. To a lesser degree, Amani Hooker on day two. Get someone paired with Peppers for the long term. There are some serious depth concerns at CB (Janoris "Jackrabiit" Jenkins, Sam Beal,...and a cliff) to address as well.
Two picks on day one, two picks on day two, and eight picks on day three. They're going to use some day three picks to trade up, but I do hope they pick Benny Snell/Mike Weber/ Alex Barnes as an RB to run between the tackles and short yardage to add to the rotation and take some of the load off Saquon. This is a deep draft at WR, so I'm hoping for a day three selection like Ashton Dulin there, and a LB to challenge the rotation like Sione Takitaki. I can see Evan Engram traded for 2020 picks or to get another selection on day two, because I really don't see where his fit is in this offense.

Not to mention Gettleman turning in a passable NY wiseguy performance every time he gets in front of a mic.

FWIW, Gettleman was born in Boston, went to Boston Latin and Springfield College. Doesn't necessarily contradict what you said, but I wonder if that's widely known here.

A lot of MA-born GMs. Eric DeCosta is from Taunton and went to Colby, Bob Quinn is from Norwood and went to UConn. I'm probably missing a couple.

The Giants have positioned themselves well to build the base through this year's draft, while still maintaining their true target of the #1 or 2 pick in the 2020 draft. Eli's replacement will not be drafted until 2020 IMHO.

I am so rooting for Eli to start enough games to be -3 as a starter in 2019

where I was last at
Eli's HoF case is 2 good 4th qtrs in the SB and longevity.

His 15 year body of work defines mediocre. The last time I checked, the only statistical category he was a leader in was interceptions, where he led the league 3-times..

Eli Manning Passer Rating Ranking by Year:

2018: 21
2017: 27
2016: 22
2015: 13 (Pro Bowl)
2014: 15
2013: 35
2012: 14 (Pro Bowl)
2011: 7 (Pro Bowl)
2010: 17
2009: 10
2008: 18 (Pro Bowl)
2007: 20
2006: 19
2005: 24

AVG: 18.7

Only 2 top 10 seasons in 14 years as a starter, which is almost certainly about to go to 2 in 15 years. However, he is top 10 in many aggregate stats so that's basically the answer right there. Longevity and 2 SB wins will get him in. I certainly won't agree with it but it's 100% happening.

I'm a total, complete broken record on this subject but it is so easy to make an anti-HoF case against Eli.

Edit: removed linked post. Not relevant to the 2019 NY Giants.

Yup. Not fair to people interested in discussing the 2019 Giants season so I won't go into it any further.

No disagreement from me. He was always pretty good at getting sacked too. How was his nickname not Lightning?

What are the feelings here on Giants-related Haskins and Daniel Jones rumors?
I like them both, but not at #6 and I'd hope they fall to #17 if they want to select a QB. That doesn't seem likely, and I'd expect a run on Murray/Haskins/Lock/Jones by 15, with the Redskins trading up for a QB. I'd prefer trading for Josh Rosen over drafting one of the QBs. They can fill so many needs in this draft. #6 could be one of Bosa/Williams/Allen if they fall, Oliver/White/Bush if they don't They can get an OT or double down on defense in the first round. There are some great Day three WR prospects and RBs that fit needs, I'm hoping for that because there are so many ways they can go at the top of the draft because of so many needs across the roster.

Smart pick by the Giants taking the best QB in the draft. Proven success in the best CFB conference and the guy can sell jeans as well. Hopefully the Giants D prevents them from many NFCCGs.

The giants based their decision to draft him, after watching him play in 3 series. In the senior bowl?

JFC the giants are a tire fire.

(sorry mobile folks, you gotta see the whole post to get the joke)

I've defended Gettleman but I think there are pretty serious questions about all three of his selections yesterday.

Sorry guys, and I mean that with some sincerity as I’m a Fins fan and come from a family of Giants fans so I do root for them to some degree, i’d be so pissed that my Offense wasn’t build around Haskins, Barkley and Beckham. That’s a core to be excited about, a potentially great group for the next decade, and it’s thrown away by decisions they were in control over...It upsets me just thinking about it, and they aren’t even my team.
