I can't ever remember a post-season so dominated by bullpens, both in how bad they look at times and how concerns about bullpens are screwing with manager decisions.
Possible recency bias, but yeah sure feels this way.

Actually, the play/throw off the backstop was pretty impressive. Solid, quick play.
Also, short distance to the backstop, and like Vas said, Posey didn't expect an opportunity to be running home there. Perfect storm for out #2.

All they need is for Mantle to get up again

Sadly, I think the Nats are going to be Dis-Mantled.

If this holds up, the Royals will be the only team I rooted for to actually win a series. Sigh.

The two aren't mutually exclusive. Play still had to be made and Ramos didn't expect to be fielding a WP.

MLB is pissing me off with these 10 second video clips on gameday... It cuts off right after the catch at the wall, and right when the ball hits the water... They cant do any better?!?!?

Wow.  Beckett announces his retirement.  Good on him - he owes nobody in baseball anything.  Two rings and a big reason why both the Marlins and Sox won in '03 and '07 respectively.

True, but/and, Ramos got a bounce off the backstop like when I used to throw a tennis ball against the folks' house.

Up third in the bottom of the 9th.

Cue "The Natural" music now; this post season has been off the charts and we're not even at the ALCS and NLCS yet.

Unreal.

Can't say we didn't see it coming.  Helluva career.  Good on him.  Glad he got the no hitter even more now.  Set for life, he'll be happy.

Yeah, could be recency bias. It certainly was an issue for the Tigers last year, for example, and I think the way playoff games get remembered often focuses on starting pitching. But for all the great games this post-season, Andrew Miller, that Finnegan kid, and Petit in that marathon game feel like outliers, though I'm sure I'm forgetting some strong bullpen performances.

Nationals need more hitting. This lineup looks pretty pedestrian outside of Harper.
They were pretty good in the regular season.

No they were not, wow.

Seeing the crushing ways that some of these teams have lost their series makes me so much more happy when I think about last year's Red Sox. It can't be said enough how fucking awesome 2013 was.
