I'm sorry did we just have an out follow a wild pitch on an intentional walk?
We're slipping into the twilight zone, this place is a madhouse, feels like being cloned

This playoff season has had more drama in fewer games than I can ever remember.

It's a lovely part of the world, and a gardener's paradise (except in fire season). I lived on Cabrillo just below Snake, back when it was still eucalyptus wilds. I wrote most of my dissertation in Redwood Park; I probably couldn't have finished without it. Give my regards to the territory.

I jog through Huckleberry or ride my bike up Snake or Broadway terrace almost daily. I came out to Cali on a postdoc to LLNL. Now I'm trying to start my own company. Still a very pretty area, although I might want to move back some place where it snows again. It snows here for 15 minutes every 2 years.

Who's calling this game?  Sounded like somebody grabbed him by the nuts. It was exciting but jeez. His voice went up 10 Octaves.

They have to Get Barrett out if there.

Another sad bullpen lesson.

The blocking rule says "catcher."
Yes I think it would be hard to call that on a pitcher who's running in from the mound. He's just trying to get there to take the throw.

Also, the blocking rule is only in effect if you are not in possession of the ball I believe. He receives it from Ramos as the runner is arriving, so I still don't think it would be an issue if that came into play.

I hate this fucking blocking rule.  Removes home-plate collisions, which were AWESOME, and just allows bitchy second-guessing.

It has to only apply to the catcher because it's too much to ask another player running to the plate to establish a lane for the baserunner while they're trying to get to the plate, pick up the ball, and pick up the runner.

Only the catcher has all the gear on.

Ramos sucks at blocking shitty pitches

Those weren't shitty pitches.  He fucking spiked the first one and gacked the second one.  A combination of Molina and Pudge Rodriguez wearing a Great Wall of China chest protector couldn't have stopped that.

Yeah, how any blame get assigned to Ramos there is beyond me.

Actually, the play/throw off the backstop was pretty impressive. Solid, quick play.

That was a spectacular play; he grabbed it off the bounce, spun and threw a strike, anything less than that and it's another run

I can't ever remember a post-season so dominated by bullpens, both in how bad they look at times and how concerns about bullpens are screwing with manager decisions.

Manny is who immediately came to mind for me. I can imagine him being able to get one out there
If the park had opened a couple of years earlier, when Piazza was still a Dodger, I think he would have done it, with all those division games and in his juicing prime.

Despite that total and utter shitshow, they only gave up one run

It's the bottom of the 7th. What's their win expectancy at this point?
