I've lived here for 20 years.  There are good fans on both sides of the Bay.  The A's have more affordable tickets

Agreed. I also make it to more As games too. Maybe that's the bias. Giants' stadium is a beautiful place to see a game.

The only one of the teams that I wanted to win that won was the team I was most lukewarm about, the Royals.

God.  Them, Buck Doubleday, the self appointed greatest fans ever and the towel waving giants fans.  Zugzwang.

I just want the Cardinals to lose.  Man that team pisses me off.  And I can't listen to Joe Buck splooge at every swing during the WS.

Way late, but holy shit did Desmond get jobbed.

Both games today had home plate umps swept up in the moment, something they are supposed to be trained not to do.

Hosner, Perez and Cain are fun to watch.
And Ned Yost's stupidity can be pretty amusing. It'll be interesting to see how he tries to lose the LCS for his team.

It's pretty unbelievable that this is the first time Tim Hudson has advanced past the first round. He has been on some fantastic teams in his career.

Barrett coming into an elimination game still strikes me as the dumbest thing Williams did all postseason.

100% agree
Not agree. Been living in DC 20 years, many years of taking over Camden yards with a crowd that is 80% sox fans. And I WAS as game 162 in Baltimore in 2011 (through the rain delay), and the Os fans were obnoxious in victory.

So frigging what, I would be the same if my stadium was  taken over by entitled fans. And they built on sep 2011 to be a quite good team.

Bottom line: Baltimore is a decent baseball town (its not Tampa), the team was built from within (its not LAA). So stop acting like privileged mfyers, whining about "lack of respect"

If the Cards win, I wonder if Lackey hangs 'em up. Three rings, and he's looking at pitching for $500k next year to have to prove he is worth a free agent contract at age 37.

I'd love to see PitchFx of the strike zone in the last 3 innings. It seemed to favor the Giants by an incredible margin. Ccoupled with the ridiculous call on Desmond that demanded an appeal to 1st base but wasn't given for some reason, I feel like the Nats got hosed.

“@AdamKilgoreWP: Williams on why he went with Thornton/Barrett: "Those are our seventh inning guys. ... We're not going to bring our closer in in 7th."”

That quote, by itself, is a fire-able offense.

Both the ALCS and NLCS will be great this year.  Go Giants and go Royals.
The San Francisco Balco's should go 100 years with winning anything for knowlingly participating in Barry Bonds's fraud.

Agreed!  I'm super excited about the 4 teams left in the ALCS/NLCS.

Mid/small-market teams (right?) that wisely invest in resources and smart FA signings, lots of fun young players, classic franchises with great ballparks/settings for the games.  I'm having a hard time getting too upset.

Edit: Oh, and I forgot: NO YANKEES!  When the Sox are out, that's all I ask for.

Williams thinks the "All Hands On Deck" strategy can suck it.

Two words:

Buck. Showalter.

If the idea of him winning a ring doesn't upset you then I don't think anything could.

Man, as much as I like to hate on Girardi, I'm sure glad he manages my favorite team and not some idiot like Williams.

Riiiight... especially since none of the other 29 teams never had anyone using PED's.

Meh.  He's not a Yankee, which gives him a hefty boost in my book.

EDIT: And honestly, what about Duquette?  As the dude who put Pedro Martinez -- PEDRO MFING MARTINEZ -- Manny Ramirez, Jason Varitek, Derek Lowe and others in a Red Sox uniform, I wouldn't mind seeing him hoist the trophy.  He's earned a lifetime of gratitude from me.

But Tony LaRussa's and Mark McGwire's Cardinals are A-OK in your book?
