Strickland is pretty beastly.    Remember when the Sox had him except that his name was Daniel Bard?
I hear they had him when his name was Strickland, too. They have another kid that throws 100, but he doesn't get it over like Strickland.

And then the Pirates waived him to make room for Jonathan Sanchez on their roster.  Oops.

And Harper launches one...

Edit:  There is risk in making your young reliever sit in the dugout for a half-inning...

If the Nats aren't too demoralized they still have time here.

Indeed. There is another full third of a game to play.  Or as the announcers just stated way too theatrically, "only nine more outs for the Nats!!!!!".

Bochy should be pulling Strickland here.  Why are you trying to force him to finish the inning?

Getting closer!  Hoping this not the Tigers Bullpen of the past two nights imploding a lead.

Giants fans used to rag on Sabean and his scouts for bad trades and a weak farm system. Then, Cain, Lincecum, Sandoval, Posey, Belt, Crawford and Panik all came up.

Don't forget Bumgarner and Susac.

If they move Posey to 3b and start Susac next year (unlikely), they'll have a completely home-grown infield.

How could I forget Bumgarner? Susac may be good, they hope good enough to get Posey a lot of starts at first base. But then, Belt has to go out to LF.

Can we give Jayson Werth a little love. After that ridiculous contract the Nats gave him, and the bad first year had, he has been really a great player/leader for this young team.

I like to imagine Werth being bald under his hat to go along with that beard and long hair.  That would be a special look.
