I managed to attain the speed limit on the 101 once, 11am Christmas morning going to LAX.
Driving on Christmas can be good, or bad.

In SoCal, they put a "the" in front of freeway numbers. In NorCal, we don't, and the "the" sounds funny.

I've got a 20 something year old book by a guy named Garrow (IIRC) called Edge Cities.  In it, he said that he did research which (somehow) showed that all throughout history, whether it was walking through a walled city, jumping on a horse, cranking up your model T or driving an SUV that at 45 minutes travel time each way, home to work or work to home, people have started to balk at the length of their commute and tried to move closer to their job or get a different job closer to work.  That kind of traffic is nuts.

He and Mattingly fighting in the dugout is odd

I know John Farrell would have shoved his boot up Either's ass.

Anyone have an idea what that was about?

Ripken or Darling thought it had to be Ethier not getting the runner over and Mattingly must have given him shit for it.

Holy shit, that was awesome.

These playoffs are awesome.

Of course, TBS's camera crew totally missing it made it slightly less awesome.

That's the downside of the shift - fielders get confused with their responsibilities w/r/t covering the bases

He probably should have let that ball drop.

That would've been ballsy, and with DeGrom struggling I don't think you can argue with just getting the out

That run is Turner's fault.

Wasn't Turner in the wrong position on that shift to cover 3rd? I thought they had the SS normal and Turner over by 2B

Or whoever was closest to 3B. He should have shifted over until Turner got to his position.
Honestly, Greinke probably was closest, but I don't know who is actually expected to actually cover in that situation from a tactical standpoint.
