Hey DCers--are people there saying that this will be Dusty's waterloo?
This isn't his Waterloo; Napoleon had a shot to win that battle if Ney didn't burn all his cavalry in suicidal charges or if Grouchy had got in the way of the Prussians; this is more like his Stalingrad, Dien Bein Phu, Alamo and Pickett's charge all rolled into one.

No way Davis can finish this, I know Justin Wilson had troubles in the second half but he did close games for DET this year.

Davis' high pitch count for the year was 34, this pickoff would be a huge blessing for CHC if it happened.

He's right - Rizzo should have held that tag. If it were held he would have definitely be out. Inconclusive like this.

I don't know why people always talk about 'conclusive', that really doesn't seem to be the way they use it. They seem to just make the call as if the original call never happened.

umps got some explaining to do, none of those was shots we saw was conclusive at all (though I think he was probably out)

I HATE this kind of replay. He was safe. Whether his toe came a few millimeters off the bag is following the letter and not the spirit of the rule while sucking the drama out of a great game.
And this I agree with. (Though by the letter of the law - and the super-slowmo replay - he was clearly out.)

Frame-by-frame replays are brutal. Almost as bad as "was that a catch."

Consider the drama sucked out on that call..................fucking terrible in that situation.

Plays like that make me want replay to go away
It's like when they use replay in the NFL to see if the D had too many men on the field because one of the guys didn't quite get off the sideline before the hurry up snap. Hate it.

Let the players play - pitches and hits and plays - not some damn ticky tack shit like that.

then they should read their own rules which require video evidence to overturn otherwise the call stands

I feel like two "synced" views shouldn't be allowed in an overturn. it's very hard to be certain they are perfectly synced.

I think this game is fixed. That's bullshit. There is no way in hell that was conclusive and this is not the type of play replay is designed for. The people in NY should not get synced up opposite angle replays unless you're going to do that for every single play in the game including balls and strikes. That's robot umps. Personified.

That's a good point. You are right. I thought it was very inconclusive.

You have got to have a backup plan for Davis here, he is not this kind of pitcher.
