What this postseason hasn't had yet is a good old 14-13 barnburner

Also, the swipe tag was the wrong move. Would have had him if he kept the tag on him.

I feel completely ambivalent about calling somebody out who beat the throw and then barely comes off the bag on the slide while the tag is still on them.

You know what? I agree. I'd like to see the rule changed, but I can't see MLB agreeing.

Even though we are rid of him, and having someone else catch for the first 2/3 of the season this year almost certainly wouldn't have made a material difference to the sox results, the AJP signing still really makes me mad.

Impossible to draw a line in the sand on that I would think. How far is too far off to be able to be legitimately tagged out then?

Same sort of problem with the collision at home plate rule. Like I said though, I can't see MLB making the change.

Nine scoreless innings in two long relief appearances so far this postseason for Petit. Nice chess piece to have, especially when you consider he's pitching complete innings when he comes in, so he's not getting any platoon advantage and so is throwing to plenty of lefties.

He set the major league all time record for most batters retired in a row this year. Piecemealed across a few games, of course.

Even if Adams gets the double play the run probably scores. If Panik knows what's happening he probably tries to get hung up. But the play was behind him. Good throw gets him though and it's an interesting timing call.

If Adams had gotten the double play, the inning was over.

EDIT: Sorry, took a second to get what you were implying.

Wow, look at that -- 46 in a row. I don't remember hearing about that.
