He didn't produce with Brady throwing the ball. I can't imagine how he'll produce with a non-Brady throwing him the ball.

They'd get nothing for him so I'd say keep him. Maybe he can be a possession receiver or something. His value is at an all-time low.

A dominant downfield threat who was virtually unstoppable in college.

"College" being the important word in that sentence

From the agent's perspective, what does this accomplish? I never really understand moves like this and what it is meant by the player and his representative to do?

Will this help Harry achieve his goals? I understand asking for a trade but specifically what does posting about the fact that you've done so on social media for your player?

I wonder whether there is another young WR on some other team that could use a “change of scenery”. Maybe do a 1:1 swap.

Agent Tooson also revealed that he had sent a request to NFL headquarters for a rule change forbidding defenders to jam receivers at the LOS.

He and his agent know he is at risk of being cut. Is this a preemptive face saving move?

I imagine it’s too late to trade him for DK Metcalf?
What a horrible pick

in any case wouldn’t it be better to be released so you can choose where you end up?

This is exactly what I was coming here to suggest. Now when he gets cut, he can say that it was in retaliation for requesting a trade. I don't see how else his agent making this request now makes sense.

Is he the worst player ever to request a trade?
Closest I can think of is the "They're making a mockery of my career" guy. Does that count as a trade request?

We all know how successfully he gets off the block so I wouldn't expect too much, N'Keal.

"N'Keal understands a key ingredient to production is opportunity."

Does he? How much more opportunity will he get in the NFL to produce against a weaker group of pass-catchers than last year's Patriot team? And how did that work out for him?

Fuck this guy.

That’s both hilarious and close to being sad but true.

With Harry to me the question is where is his best fit. So what can he do and who might be interested? I don’t think he handles any sort of horizontal stem well. His breaks are sloppy and his routes are not fooling anyone. He did flash on some vertical routes last year but Cam missed his windows getting open. Now would I say he consistently ran good vertical routes? Absolutely not. Corners would sit on him and dare him to stack them and he didn’t consistently do that. They weren’t scared of him getting open vertically but he got open and stacked them more often than he did with horizontal based routes. It’s like saying he’s a D as a slot/horizontal/shifty receiver but a C- as a vertical guy. (D+ works here too)

The thing that shocked me the most about Harry is his RAC didn’t translate. You’d have thought that would have at least been decent.

With this roster I’d rather have a 3/4 for him because they could use more draft picks this off-season vs last when they relied more on FA. Edit: I have no idea if they can get that much for him.

BB probably has an intern gathering footage of all 971 plays where Harry was not a factor due to his own limitations.

I'm requesting the winning ticket in tomorrow night's PowerBall. I could use the cash.

I think it's pretty clear that he's a D overall.

Well he has made the request but if he is as good at separating from the Patriots as he is at separating from corners then we are stuck with him.

N’Keal Harry needs Ryan Fitzpatrick. He’s exactly the type of receiver Fitz loves. A guy that doesn’t separate but can be a bully at the catch point, and he needs a QB that isn’t afraid to just send up a yolo ball his way.

They made gadget plays to give him the ball in space and for a big guy, he didn't get much after contact. He has not been durable or productive but his agent thinks he can do better somewhere else. Has the agent seen this kid play? 42451

Is yolo ball a new term? I love it.

If you’ve watched Fitz play for a season or two, it’s definitely a real thing. The man will throw it up to guys that are covered or into closing windows with near reckless abandon.

Harry needs a guy like that who will just launch a ball his way even if he’s blanketed downfield. You’d be shocked how frequently it works when your guy is bigger and stronger then their guy.

I formally request a trade from the Patriots as well. I'd have the same value on the open market.

This request is probably meaningless, but if a team was interested at all, I can't imagine this really helps.

The guy isn't even trying to make the team but just wants to bail, it's not like the Patriots have some otherworldly WR depth. The Anti-Tom Brady move.

Completely fair. I was being optimistic. Before last year started I made a charity bet that he would finish with less than 350 yards. I tried to set the bar low so that my friend would win that bet but… yeah he sucks.

Yeah this is a good match. I’d say being in a system with McLaurin (I know a bunch of us liked him a lot and wanted him on the Pats) would help him because if you’re playing single high the safety might be shaded to McLaurin’s side of the field but he often ran his routes here just 1:1 with a corner and no safety help over the top and didn’t produce anyway. When I looked back at the Patriots weeks 11-17 I did see some moments where Harry had created some small windows vertically. I don’t know if he wasn’t getting open when Cam wanted him to or if he was just not the top option or if Cam didn’t trust him but for whatever reason he didn’t get the targets even when he did get some separation vertically. On his underneath routes he was getting separation but like almost receivers have separation when they run underneath stuff - the problem was Harry couldn’t make the first man miss or break the initial tackle and I didn’t see any explosion up the field when he had the ball. A lot of defenses don’t mind giving up 4-5-6 yard passes because it’s effectively checking down. And if you want to win that way you have to execute those plays 10-20 times in a drive which is hard to do. Harry was supposed to be a guy who could create chunk plays. He never lived up to that.

Mac Jones was also a guy who had some right window challenges on tape. Now granted not a ton because his guys were often wide open but Mac showed an ability to throw it up in tight windows when given the chance. I think the problem is Harry isn’t on schedule with his routes.

We debated a lot here the best way to use him. I was of the opinion his best usage would be in the slot but he doesn’t have the shiftiness or route prowess to work there. He struggles with press but maybe he could work as a traditional Z? Maybe as an X in a more vertical based system where he can matchup against a teams 3rd best corner? I’ll be honest here I’m flailing trying to find fucking something for him… he’s just not a good receiver right now and he probably won’t be.
