Ben Bishop’s mom right now is basically the emotion of watching playoff hockey personified.

I’m sorry to distract anyone with questions but is it just me or was it a little ridiculous how long Bishop had to hold the line before his teammates cleared it from their zone?

Man, I want no part of Bishop in a series, but the Bruins also have trouble against goalies that play the puck well, like Bennington does. It's kind of pick your poison with these guys for us.

How did the Benn wraparound stay out?
I’m pretty sure it was in... How is that not a review? Looked like it hit the pad behind the line and quickly popped out no? Probably not enough there to overturn.

Edit... so much for that.

That was just inevitable. Sadly. At one point the SOG were 52-26. You can only ask your goalie to do so much.

That wraparound was in.

That's seriously Pat Maroon's first OT goal of his career? He's been in the NHL for almost a decade... that's nuts.

I can't believe they didn't review the wrap around. Feels like any minute someone will post a video showing it was in.

It’s absolutely insane that the Blues were last in the NHL in January and are now conference finalists. Ridiculous story.

How’s it gonna go down... will you catch him on the rebound. Gloria.

A Boston team needs to coopt that song. I need it in my life more than in random late night Wolf of Wall Street viewings.

I feel for Bishop’s mom. *Pierre* Played for Chaminade in St. Louis and had his whole family there.

That shot when she just sighed down into her seat was one I saw if my mom watching my brother. Can only imagine when it’s the NHL and not Illinois high school hockey.

Patty from Oakville over Chaminade.

I really only watched the OTs, but I couldn't believe my ears that Dallas only had 4 SOG in the 2nd & 3rd combined. that's insanely terrible.

that said, OT was more evenly matched. that wraparound where the puck went parallel on the goal line in the 2nd OT was the chance Dallas had to have to steal this one.

It's a disgrace that a team actually named the St. Louis Blues plays such horrendous music at their games, like the "Take Me Home Country Road" singalong, and the worst song named "Gloria" in the history of modern music.

The fans clearly love the awful music, so I am actively rooting against them now.

"Gloria" is an incredible win song and has a backstory with the team. I love it.

"Take Me Home Country Road" is pretty bad, but the Bruins have co-opted "Living on a Prayer" now so I can't really throw stones.

Considering who it came from, I found it funny and tongue in cheek/not serious.

They used to play Sammy Hagar 15 years ago IIRC.

Only watched the 3rd period, and the OT's (and 2OT just now)

Feel for Bishop. He deserved better. Other than Benn and Radulov, not much offense. I feel they should have split up their 1st line a little, put Radulov on another line or something.

St. Louis kid scoring on a St. Louis kid, in St. Louis, for Game 7. Poetic.

St. Louis has a puncher's chance of going 2 for 2 in championships this year, will maybe make losing the Rams sting a little less.

If you read the twitter comments (I know, I know), it is kind of amazing how many people thought Blandino was being serious. The lesson, as always, is people are morons, and the comments section of any online site is a complete wasteland. But still, I don't get how so many people thought he was serious.

I watched this on Youtube. I can see why it wasn't overturned. While it is clear that the puck probably went past the line, at no viewing angle (behind the net, above the net, ice level) is the puck actually visible inside the line. in every case the exact location of the puck is blocked/covered by a player or the goalie.

Yeah but to not even get a review? It’s like everyone forgot about it immediately after the fact. I didn’t even see any mention of it postgame.

I don't even think it was close to going in, personally. We all keep expecting it to go in so our brain prepares for that, but when you watch it, the puck hits his pad on the goal line and comes right out quickly. Maybe a tiny portion of the puck crossed, but at no point was the whole puck in danger of being across the goal line.

I'm sure Toronto reviewed it and determined it wasn't close, hence no need for a deeper review. The league office looks at while play continues to the next whistle, so they had plenty of time to look at it and determine no goal. No need to do anything further.

Edit: I just watched it frame by frame on NHL.com. The puck absolutely did not go in nor did any part of it cross the goal line. Which is incomprehensible when you see the position everyone is in the frame before, but it's true.

Wasn't the next whistle within a couple seconds?

I didn't think so, but it was a blur and I really don't remember. Either way, my point is that even though they don't stop the game for a review, doesn't mean Toronto doesn't review it. They review everything.

They review those plays in real time.

Edit: Turns out there was a whistle 5 seconds after the Benn play according to the NHL play by play. Toronto would’ve reviewed if immediately and if it was close they would’ve buzzed down to tell the refs to hold up play. The refs generally feet drag on close ones to give Toronto time, can’t remember if they did last night or no. If play continued on without a whistle, Toronto reviews on their own and would buzz down if they get a clear look that the puck was in.

But why has St. Louis co-opted a song about West Virginia?
