LOL...snakes? Too funny. I mean, throwing stuff on the ice is terribly uncool, but once in a while I can see it.

Someone also chucked a jersey at him as he left the ice in warm ups.

Loud asshole and we don’t need you chants. Let’s see some creativity, Isles fans.

I don't remember how it went down, was his free agency particularly contentious? I don't remember him bad mouthing the team or taking lesser money to leave them behind or anything?

Is it just that New York fans are a bunch of pricks?

I think he was pretty clear that his dream was to play for his home team. So yeah, the New York fans are a bunch of pricks.

Well he said it was his dream to play for Toronto after the fact in the pajamas tweet which is why they call him Pajama Boy now. Throughout the entire process he said his priority was to play his whole career with the Islanders. He said it a bunch of times, including right after they cleaned out the front office and brought Lou and Trotz in last spring / summer. The fans feel he knew all along, strung them out, then stabbed them in the back.

Hey hats off to Charlie Wang - he barely met the cap floor half the years he had Tavares, and yet has successfully deflected any blame off of himself.

DiPietro’s still getting paid til nearly 2030

Well his fan base also roots for the Jets so it’s not that hard to fool them.

Toronto up 4-1 in the 3rd period, which will probably always give me a little bit of a happy feeling inside, even though I want them to lose.

Marner is an incredible talent, and one of my favorite non-Bruins to watch play. I would love to see him handcuff their salary cap figure for years.

Everything on that shift from Chara on Niederreiter was designed to make him uncomfortable.

Just saw a replay of the goal that made it 5-1. Does their coach scream "FUCKING EMBARASSING" kick over a trash can, and walk out after that?

Morgan Rielly may have called a ref the f-word. Not fuck, the homophobic one.

https://thecomeback.com/nhl/maple-leafs-defenseman-morgan-rielly-appears-to-use-homophobic-slur-toward-referee.html

During tonight’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning, Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Morgan Rielly appeared to use a homophobic slur toward the referee.

The ice level mic picked up the sound byte and it’s clear someone called the ref the slur. What makes it likely to be Rielly is that on the video, you can see Rielly on the bottom of the clip look at the ref while the slur was being said and was the closest player to that referee.

I think the really clear line here is "All of those interviewed [including Rielly and the ref] adamantly denied that Reilly uttered a slur and the audio supported their statements."

There was a phonetically similar thing said, people got worried, there was an investigation, it concluded that it was a clear misunderstanding, and hopefully it goes away. Save the rage cannon for someone who actually uses the slurs.

5-0 now. Pretty goal by DeBrincat who quietly has 38 on the year.

Neutrals should want the Blackhawks to make the playoffs, their games are crazy with loads of goals, end to end action, and scoring chance after scoring chance for both teams.

Blackhawks overs have hit for like 23 out of the last 25 games.

Sick come back for Leafs. They have Ottawa tomorrow. Bruins have CBJ. That is a must win with a 2 point lead

Here is a comparison of the Bruins & Leaf’s remaining schedules.

Bruins remaining opponents and their point totals as of morning 3/17:

3/19 - @ Islanders: 89
3/21 - @ New Jersey: 63
3/23 - @ Florida: 76
3/25 - @ Tampa: 114
3/27 - Rangers: 69
3/30 - Florida: 76
3/31 - @ Detroit: 60
4/2 - @ Columbus: 84
4/4 - @ Minnesota: 76
4/6 - Tampa: 114

Leafs remaining opponents and their point totals as of morning 3/17:

3/19 - @ Nashville: 87
3/20 - @ Buffalo: 69
3/23 - Rangers: 69
3/25 - Florida: 76
3/27 - @ Philadelphia: 76
3/30 - @ Ottawa: 56
4/1 - @ Islanders: 89
4/2 - Carolina: 85
4/2 - Tampa: 114
4/6 - @ Montreal: 81

This setup favors Toronto, at least a bit. They have one more home game (although they are not as good at home as the Bruins). Their strength of schedule is weaker. However, they have the tie breaker. So they need 4 more points than Boston in 10 games.

Edit: fixed tie breaker mistake.

Toronto definitely owns the tiebreaker (at the moment).

Yeah, the tiebreaker is ROW which Toronto has a 43-41 advantage. If the B’s end up catching them in ROW, it’ll be moot as a tiebreaker anyways.
