I dunno, the offense looked a little better with Manning in there -- he's a modest upgrade. The defense is good enough that it's hard not to see them having the best chance of getting to the Super Bowl. Two home wins away with if this hold up, and everyone in the AFC has flaws.

If this Denver team is the class of the afc, cards or panthers should roll

Edit: or Hawks

Good to see Nantz can't think on his feet at all - "And Minnesota will face Washington tonight for the NFC North title"

Ok so after San Diego turns it over in a couple minutes the seeding will be:

DENVER
NEW ENGLAND
CINCY
HOUSTON
KC
PITTSBURGH

Are any of these teams really any good? If Patriots get back to reasonable health none of these teams are a serious threat I don't think. Denver perhaps, but they're probably committed to Manning now and no way he's throwing on the NE secondary and they're too good against the run. Maybe Pittsburgh if Roethlisberger goes crazy and breaks out of a half-dozen sacks? NFC looks much tougher with Arizona, Carolina and Seattle all looking like legit SB teams.

And it's not crazy to say the offensive line got a little stoked up when he came in. They definitely stepped it up.
Manning can also occasionally complete a forward pass and that gives the running game some more room to operate. Can't stack the box like they were against Osweiler.

NFL/zebras still the biggest threat, but Pats running defense is vulnerable without a vigorous Hightower

Really? When you have questions on the offensive line, pretty much every team is a threat.

Not a great team for sure, and not dominant, but I think they have the inside track now. That defense gives them so much margin for error. Overcoming a -4? Great defense with a true home field advantage.

If the 2 seed is guaranteed not to play PIT in the divisional round, I'm ok with that.
Yeah. As the 2, the potential QB's the Pats would see in Foxboro in the Divisional round are McCarron/Injured hand Dalton, Hoyer/Weeden and Alex Smith. I'm fine with that, should it come to pass. Cross the potential on the road AFCCG bridge when we get there.

Pittsburg @ Cinci will be a great game to watch next week if this game holds.
