Watching this TN defense is all kinds of eye opening as a pats fan. They’re just flying all over the field, even the d linemen

Same question I asked last week. If there’s a pre-snap penalty and the players can’t hear the whistle the refs play those like nothing after the whistle matters including late and illegal hits.
I could be wrong but it sure didn't seem like the ref was exactly running onto the field to kill the play as he should have

That was easy, but strategically, why direct snap to the RB and then run in the direction that the QB flexed towards? Feels like if you're going to draw a defender out of the play to give your offense an advantage you should just take that person out of the play entirely.

These defenses are impressing me. And yet...

Points allowed:
- Ten: #6
- Cin: #17
- NE: #2

Yards allowed:
- Ten: 12
- Cin: #18
- NE: #4

And you can't say "weak schedule".

SOS
- Ten: -0.4
- Cin: -1.9
- NE: -1.6

So....quite comparable.

Yet these defenses look SOOOOOO much better than New England's.

Patriots secondary was beat to hell by the end of the season, Barmore was nursing a knee injury, and I suspect Judon had an injury of some sort as well. KVN hit a wall towards the end of the season and Hightower would have as well except he got juked in the process.

Yup…and let’s face it, pats beefed up their d stats during that great stretch against mostly terrible QBs.

we also ran the ball a lot and ate clock on offense

Yea, something went wrong with Judon for sure.
I think the league caught on to Barmore and started to double him. Hightower was toast last half of the season. And he wasn’t that great in the first half.

Another awful series by CIN when they could take control of the game. Maybe Burrow makes an amazing play

This is going just fine for TEN, exactly the kind if game they do well in.

Cincy really squandered an opportunity to put TEN in a multi score hole early.
