0-3 to 4-3
NFC Championship
Eagles vs. 49ers, 3:05 (Fox) - Eagles -2.5

AFC Championship
Chiefs vs. Bengals, 6:30 (CBS) - Chiefs -1

Who is going to the Bowl and who is going home? Should be a couple of great games.

I've been terrible in the playoff prediction thread. I think these are going to be two great games. Rooting, I guess, for Philly and Cincy. But honestly, these two games plus the Super Bowl all should be fantastic. Great sports viewing.

It really seems like Mahomes isn't hampered by the high-ankel sprain, which is amazing. I figured he'd not practice at all this week but he's been a full participant and the videos of him leaving the press conference and sort of warming up on the field look good. They're going to need him to be able to move around to have a chance vs Cincy.

Both Jonah Williams and Alex Cappa remained out today. The new OL passed the Rousseau and Oliver test pretty well, but Jones and Clark present an even bigger challenge and I imagine Spagnuolo will throw more wrinkles at them than Frazier did. At least Tre Flowers is back to full which will help them against Kelce, although Hurst popped up with a calf issue today which is the injury he missed three weeks with last month.

I'd listen to this interview before making that presumption. The gist is that while Mahomes can walk and even run in a straight line, once action game action begins, it becomes a different story and remains to be seen how effective he can be.

Thanks. That all makes sense. I think KC's going to take better advantage of the Bengals OL injury issues than Buffalo did but I also believe Mahomes is going to struggle with his mobility. Really not sure what outcome to expect but gun to my head I have to go with Cincy.

It looked like the bulletin board material was only going one way with Mike Hilton calling it Burrowhead on the sideline Sunday, but thankfully Willie Gay (continuing the tradition of upstanding Chiefs citizens) stepped in and fixed that.

If I’m not mistaken, Willie Gay was present when the Bengals beat the Chiefs in Arrowhead a year ago. That team had the benefit of a healthy Patrick Mahomes and Tyreke Hill still on the team.

That’s not to say the Bengals can’t use bulletin board material (though I question how much additional incentive it provides) or the Chiefs shouldn’t feel confident. Rather the Bengals don’t need it and the Chief should be focused on how the Bengals dominated them in the second half last year.

I’ve picked every game correctly this postseason. Going with an all-animal bowl in 2 weeks.

I haven't seen any stats from last week, but Burrow seemed to me to be getting rid of the ball in very quick, Brady-esque fashion, negating pass rush. KC has a healthier secondary than Buffalo, but can it really keep Burrow from distributing the ball before the pressure arrives?

I think the Bengals beat an ankled Mahomes. SF Eagles should be a classic and I like the Eagles pulling out a victory using a lot more 12 and running on SF. Should be two great games. The chiefs have the ability to put Burrow under pressure tomorrow and that could be the equalizer but it seems like Cinci has their number on offense.

Does the nfl have rules against announcing a trade during the title games? I could see rodgers pulling an arod.

Do you think 12 is the best way to attack SF? Their run defense is so stout that I figure Philly would want to spread them out given their strength at WR/TE and then you’d still have Hurts’ rushing ability to fall back on. Always hard to predict their usage of Miles Sanders but this doesn’t feel like a Miles Sanders game to me.

To be honest I read a breakdown and then listened to one about how the Eagles have some advantages vs the 49ers and their tendencies vs 12 and I can't remember the specifics now. I am having a shitty battle with insomnia today and ended up just grinding away the last 18 hours on draft film study so my brain is mush.

I've noticed with Purdy that he bails out pretty quickly on blitzes. Almost always to his left. Another habit/tendency I see him do is when the play breaks down he runs toward the sideline to buy more time. I see Philly running the Niners over today. Cincy/KC I think will be a really tight one.

They normally use Miles Sanders a lot between the 20s and on early downs but they lean on Hurts and Gainwell to get the short, late, inside and red zone yards. Hurts was making it a point to avoid contact on some runs last week so we'll see if that strategy actually holds up.

I think Mahomes will be able to go but he‘ll be at least somewhat limited - it’s his plant foot so once he tweaks it I’m sure it will affect some of his throws and he could end up short-arming a few. He won’t he as hobbled as Gronk was in the second Giants super bowl, but he won’t be 100%. I’m riding with the Bengals and as much as I want the Eagles to lose.… they look really good.

Is the NFC game on Youtube regular, or do I have to use 3 browsers and/or clear cookies every hour?

See if you can find the two ends of the cable you cut and solder them back together (Christ if I know). Even the Amazon Prime games this year had a shaky picture at times, and how do you record or back up? This time of year, I have to have solid TV coverage for these games.

I’m just hearing this, Kelce’s back locked up Friday? Man, that’s bad luck. I hope he is on some good shit.

The Cinci line did fine against a weak Buffalo front but I expect Chris Jones to make Burrow's life a living hell. KC will rise above their injury challenges and take the game. Jim Nantz will look like a semen covered Randy Marsh this evening.

I root against Kelce every chance I get but there’s no denying he’s a fantastic player. Would really be too bad if he can’t go. I would imagine they’ll empty the medicine cabinet.

Travis Kelce tweaked his back on Friday and getting anti-inflammatory drugs since. Fox crew said KC is not sure he can go.
You and I know he'll go.
This will just lead into CBS's narrative about the "heroic duo" of Mahomes and Kielce battling through injuries. We should have a "Hi, Bob" game for every time it gets mentioned

Not sure I am ready for the constant Nantzgasms on every “heroic” Mahomes completion. Might try sync up the radio call to the game.

After Burrow kills the chiefs again, Nantz is going to be as sad as when he gets his bread very lightly toasted.

I don’t like Brock Purdy.

Usually I like people. Like these out of nowhere stories are awesome. I rooted for Gardner Minshew, for example. The Brock Purdy story is the kind of story that I eat up. And I am rooting for San Francisco.

But I hate the fucker. When I see him in interviews I want to punch him. He strikes me as a mean spirited dullard.

It’s like that guy at work. Everyone likes him. Objectively, he is fine. Intellectually, you understand that hating him is more about you than him. So you be nice and push the feeling away. In some ways you go out of your way to be extra nice because you feel bad.

But I fucking hate Brock Purdy. There. I said it. Leave me alone. Fuck all y’all.

So, anyone have any idea how to steam this thing? Literally everything has gone wrong today including my laptop shitting itself so I need to find a way to steam this on a PS5 in the next 20

Is it because he wears No. 13 in honor of Dan Marino, or that his siblings are named Whittney and Chubba?

I don’t like him either but I think it’s about him not having to have faced much adversity as a starter. If he gets dirty and beat up today but fights through it I’ll like him a lot more, win or lose.

On the flip side, I love Hurts.

Didn’t even know.

If video came out of Brock Purdy heating quarters with a bic lighter and throwing them to the homeless, would anyone be surprised?

He was the last pick in the NFL draft, somehow made an NFL team and played well enough that SF didn't mind putting him even tho he is a 3rd string QB who is also Mr. Irrelevant.

He was absolutely given the easy route here, I agree. Just rolled up and was given everything without even trying.

I keep looking at the Eagles schedule and am like, yeah SF is going to fuck them up. But they have been so dominant in their wins it has we questioning my initial feel. Took the Niners to start playoffs so will stick with it.
