Amazon has emerged as the front-runner to buy a minority stake in the NFL’s media properties, sources tell Front Office Sports.

The tech giant is in talks with the country’s richest sports league about acquiring up to a 49% stake in NFL Network, RedZone and NFL.com, said sources.

But the Amazon deal isn’t done and there are multiple media, private equity and tech bidders seeking a piece of the NFL media empire, said sources. A last-minute snag could push a final agreement back by several months, warned another source.

The $10 billion league hired Goldman Sachs Group in June to sort out potential partners.

Starting in 2022, Amazon Prime Video will become the first streaming service to control an exclusive package of NFL games, paying $1 billion a year for the rights to “Thursday Night Football.”

With annual revenue of $386 billion, Amazon is also bidding for the “Sunday Ticket” package against Walt Disney Co., Paramount Plus, Apple and others, said sources. Bidding for Sunday Ticket could reach $2 billion to $3 billion a year.

We should all strive to find someone who loves us the way Sean Payton loves paying assloads of money to Taysom Hill.
I’ll never get this situation. Dude is a 31 year-old gadget player whose physical style won’t age well at all. Just so dumb.

Was Judge told he had to take Garrett?
Pretty much, yeah.

The former Giants quarterback (2000-03) was always a curious hire, as he didn't have any previous experience working with Judge.

Giants ownership recommended Garrett to Judge after the second-year coach was hired in 2020. The two met and Judge called the conversation "great" at the time.

The New York Giants made a bold move earlier in the week, firing offensive coordinator Jason Garrett. With that change in hand, one can't help but contemplate what's next. And that likely won't be the only change they make with an eye toward the future.
General manager Dave Gettleman, who has run the team's personnel department since 2018, is unlikely to return in 2022, sources with knowledge of the situation and those with deep knowledge of the league say. With two first-round picks in the next draft and a critical offseason ahead, don't be surprised if there is another voice making the final call alongside head coach Joe Judge.

It's going to take 3 seasons for CMC to shake the injury bug now. A truly brutal two years, and it sucks.
Or (and not that I'm wishing this) consecutive years of 250, 326 and 403 touches is about all one can expect in terms of full time action from an NFL RB.

Apparently he was killed by his father in a domestic dispute while trying to protect his mother, who was shot, but survived.

To be clear, his father is not the former Cardinals/Giants running back, who spells his name Ottis Anderson.

It's not about the dog. All of these types of domestic violence incidents aren't about whatever starts an argument, it's about what is usually a long pattern of violent behavior and rage.

Thank you! I’ve been googling for 10 minutes trying to figure this out — wondering why nobody is commenting on “Superbowl winning OJ Anderson. . . . “

That's super light.

They should be done for the year.
The amazing thing is Brown ultimately got vaccinated. So he risked this for no reason, because he did the thing anyway.

Certainly, his decision making is poor in many facets of his life. Seems like a pretty bad dude, in many ways.

Didn’t this all come about because he didn’t pay his personal chef? Like, he could have paid someone $10k or whatever but, instead, lost several multiples above that.

Clearly a bad dude and also a really, really dumb one.

It seems incredibly light to me as well, however the team has not issued any penalties yet. I believe they have said they are treating them as “injured” and will deal with them when the suspensions are over. I would hope/think they would cut them — but who knows with AB being Brady’s binkie.

It will be interesting if this is a retirement or is this recognition that the Steelers want to move on? The way Schefter words it there, there seems to be some ambiguity.
You’re right, I overlooked that. I’m sure the team wants to move on. My Steelers fan friend can’t wait for him to be gone and my eye test suggests as much. He probably should’ve retired two years ago.

He's a statue who falls like a tree that was chopped down anytime anyone is near him. He also can't throw.

Yes, he's utterly washed physically. There is not a single team in the league who would sign Ben.

He’s completely toast. As pointed out above, it would have been better for the Steelers if he had called it a day two years ago.
