It's weird how the word "conditional" is used now.

It used to mean it was the best you could do, now it basically means the worst? Seems like it's a conditional 5th to me.

Also like unless they know of a team that would have offered more but wasn't given the chance...?

Yeah, what am I missing with Minshew? He's not a top of the pile prospect but he's 25 and in 23 games has a 37/11 TD/Int ratio, 62.9% completion percentage and a QB rating of 93.1. If the Pats didn't already have Mac, I'd want the Pats to be all over him. Just a 5th round pick (at best) gets you that? It seems like his floor is really solid backup QB, and at his age even that worst case is worth more than what they got.

Who backs up Wentz in Indy?
Jacob Eason & Sam Ehlinger.

Unless that was a rhetorical question. In which case they still back him up, but I should have made a funnier response.

Ravens concerned that JK Dobbins may have major knee injury. That would be a really tough loss for them.

Cam Akers out for the season. Travis Etienne out for the season. And now JK Dobbins out for the season. It's been a really rough preseason for young RBs. All those guys happen to be 22 years old.

Totally sucks. I was looking forward to seeing what all three could do this season.

Yup. Especially Dobbins for me. He was a huge breakout candidate with an expected major workload after getting his feet wet last year.

I loved Dobbins coming out and he was absolutely electrifying last year in a backup role. I hate it when this shit happens. Same with Cam Akers. It’s just sad to see young guys getting hurt right when it looks they are about to break out. It sucks seeing it period. Part of the fun of being a draftnik is seeing how things play out. If a guys career gets derailed or interrupted by injury you can’t evaluate your own evaluation.

Post-Katrina they played some games in San Antonio, and I also think at Tiger Stadium at Baton Rouge. No idea if Baton Rouge is in any better shape, but if New Orleans is a no go it makes sense to see if Tiger Stadium is available.

Unless New Orleans falls apart again (possible) it's only one game we're talking about. I'm sure the NFL greatly prefers playing in NFL stadiums.

Texans are at home so they aren't an option.

Having lost RBs J.K. Dobbins and Justice Hall to season-ending injuries, the Ravens are signing veteran RB Le’Veon Bell to their practice squad, per source. He soon is likely to be added to the 53-man roster when ready.

He's a two time all-pro, just 25, reasonably durable, and finished 3rd and 2nd the last two years in the DPOY voting. If he keeps up that pace he may be worth it, but I believe he's not only the highest paid defensive player in the league, he's also the highest paid non-QB.

According to Field Yates of ESPN, the Colts have agreed to a three-year contract extension with running back Nyheim Hines that links him to the organization through the 2024 season. Hines will receive $18.6 million from this extension with $12 million guaranteed. That $6.2 million per year in new money now makes the 24-year-old a top-10 highest-paid back in the NFL.

Nice player but that seems quite excessive. Guess they figure they can pay him while Taylor is cheap.
Agreed. Top 10 money for a backup/none full time starter? Woof. They also have Mack on the roster.
very happy BB doesn’t choose to tie up significant salary cap on RB.

I think RBs that can contribute significantly in the passing game are the kind of player I'd be more willing to tie money to at that position, the problem with Hines is that he's just not prolific enough to justify that contract. The profile is fine, the usage rate isn't.

Woof is right. That is a crazy overpay for a guy who is on the field for about 30-40% of the snaps.
