Basically just his size/build (6’, 200lbs, so a bit tall/light for an RB) combined with an increased usage rate to try to justify a big contract. He’s gone from 86 carries his rookie year to 193 this year. I would expect that to jump again given how productive he is with the ball in his hands.

I'm wondering how this affects different teams. Obviously, in the aggregate, it's very good for players as a group as that is over half a billion dollars available.
But does it help teams who are up against the cap more than teams with room by reducing the number of players who have to be cap casualties?

I think that was about the expected number shouldn't have much of an effect. For instance, Overthecap has been using an estimated $225M 2023 cap.

Huntley played in 6 games (starting 4) threw for 658 yards, 2 TD and 3 INT.
He didn't even qualify for Rate stats, but if he did, he would have finished:
Dead last in TD%
26th in INT%
27th in ANY/A

I've never heard of him! (I watched a tiny amount of football compared to my norm this year, but still!)
Literally anyone did. His offense basically had five games in the regular season (Lamar got hurt on the last play of the first quarter in the Denver game) and never scored two TDs. Anthony Brown's offense (when they rested Dobbins/Zeitler/Andrews in the last game) scored 16 points in his start, a mark Huntley's cleared once by one point.

I missed it, but they actually pick the alternates when they announce the starters, and Huntley was the 4th alternate there.
Some writers have said it was likely because of the player and coach vote (2/3rds of the formula), where they pick 3. Guys vote for their guy, then stack the rest with guys at the bottom so their competition doesn't get votes. So if you want to try and get Burrow for example in the top 3, you vote for him, Huntley and Zach Wilson or something. Huntley also had only played 2 games when voting closed, so probably none when half his votes went in. So many people used him as their "burn" vote that he ended up 7th, so when all the guys ahead of him dropped out.....

As the NBA learned, the more of the vote you give the players the worse the results because they vote for their friends, try to game the system, etc.
Edit- it's also why the NBA removed the All-Star game from a bunch of escalator/bonus/contract stuff.
Another argument for just doing two or three all-pro teams and getting rid of the pro-bowl junk altogether.
I wonder how that will affect Russell Wilson. I mean, Payton appears to be a MUCH better coach than Hackett, but I wonder if Wilson is just toast. I'd bet that Payton can get improved performance out of Wilson.
They say compensation is Den 2023 1st, 2024 2nd for SP and Saints 2024 3rd, but Den doesn’t have a 1st this year so I don’t get it.

AJ Green has retired, per his Instagram. It's a shame he'll likely be on the outside looking in due to injuries and lack of team success, but he had the best five-year start to a career of anyone despite subpar QB play and made the Bengals fun again. He had some of the best footwork I've ever seen and his ability to contort his body with that frame was something else. One of the humblest superstars there ever was deserved better.

I have a sinking feeling we’re gonna miss out on Carr while waiting for Rodgers, who ultimately stays with the Packers or ends up on the Raiders, and we end up stuck with Jimmy or worse. It might be a really long season…

I dunno...I feel like this would be very beneficial mentally. I mean, sensory deprivation tanks are a thing, and I know that many people swear by certain meditation techniques like the ones where you can't talk during the entire duration of like a week. I, personally, would love to try it, and have wanted to try a sensory deprivation tank for a while now, but the local spa that had some burned down recently. I mean, Rodgers might be a nut, but I don't think this particular thing is so crazy.
