And he wasn't even an athleticism guy like Gurley so I figured he'd age a little better. Know Gurley had knee issues but, to Cellar's point, these guys go fast. It's why I don't blame them at all for doing what they need to do in order to maximize their earnings. Wouldn't be surprised if a guy like Derrick Henry is out of the league in under 3 years.
Bell's holdout ended up being a bad decision, it seems like. But he did make a good chunk of change. Gurley literally had knees that were disintegrating. And the amazing thing is Todd Gurley is currently 27 years old. Twenty seven! It's crazy how fast it can go.

Between the strength coach debacle, OTA violations, Tebow mini circus, and generally appearing like he’s in state of pained confusion on the sidelines, it already seemed like Meyer’s stay in the NFL might be short. This is just another log on the fire.

I’m honestly surprised he’s flaming out this quickly. Obviously his programs at Florida and Ohio State had massive issues (this recent Defector piece is particularly damning), but for as much as he‘s a total POS, he always struck me as calculating and clearly a good coach. But neither style nor substance are working here.

Shad Khan’s record in Jacksonville is really something, huh?

LOFL, my brother in law is a scenster in Gainesville (if that is even a thing) and he told me years ago Urban and his wife were up to some wild shit. This video proves none of that yet makes me believe him a little more.

Don't forget he owns Fulham, who have yoyo'd between leagues while going through 8 managers in 8 years.

Bucs-Pats had 28.5 million viewers, most on SNF since 2012.
Well all this does is make me curious which 2012 SNF game would have had a higher share than this one.

Week 1: Steelers @ Broncos Sunday, Sept. 9th - 8:20 p.m. NBC
Week 2: Lions @ 49ers Sunday, Sept. 16th - 8:20 p.m. NBC
Week 3: Patriots @ Ravens Sunday, Sept. 23rd - 8:20 p.m. NBC
Week 4: NY Giants @ Eagles Sunday, Sept. 30th - 8:20 p.m. NBC
Week 5: Chargers @ Saints Sunday, Oct. 7th - 8:20 p.m. NBC
Week 6: Packers @ Texans Sunday, Oct. 14th - 8:20 p.m. NBC
Week 7: Steelers @ Bengals Sunday, Oct. 21st - 8:20 p.m. NBC
Week 8: Saints @ Broncos Sunday, Oct. 28th - 8:20 p.m. NBC
Week 9: Cowboys @ Falcons Sunday, Nov. 4th - 8:20 p.m. NBC
Week 10: Texans @ Bears Sunday, Nov. 11th - 8:20 p.m. NBC
Week 11: Ravens @ Steelers Sunday, Nov. 18th - 8:20 p.m. NBC
Week 12: Packers @ NY Giants Sunday, Nov. 25th - 8:20 p.m. NBC
Week 13: Eagles @ Cowboys Sunday, Dec. 2nd - 8:20 p.m. NBC
Week 14: Lions @ Packers Sunday, Dec. 9th - 8:20 p.m. NBC
Week 15: 49ers @ Patriots Sunday, Dec. 16th - 8:20 p.m. NBC
Week 16: Chargers @ Jets Sunday, Dec. 23rd - 8:20 p.m. NBC
Patriots-Ravens is a contender, despite the replacement refs ruining it and it ending with that ridiculous Justin Tucker miss that they called good.

Ravens-Steelers was probably a good matchup, but not enough of a national draw.

Eagles-Cowboys has the national attention, and probably a big Tony Romo game, but I don't think the Eagles were that great in 2012.

So my guess is 49ers-Patriots. The Niners came out of nowhere to have a big season with Kaepernick, and I remember that game being a classic with the Niners coming out to a huge lead and then Brady nearly bringing the Pats all the way back.

Now I'm going to try to look up the answer....

edit:

AKA the list of games I found above was missing one.

The most-watched Sunday prime-time game was when the Washington Football Team and Dallas Cowboys battled for the NFC East title in Week 17 of the 2012 campaign. That game drew 30.3 million viewers.

Feds investigating WFT head trainer.

federal law enforcement conducted a raid at Washington's facility last week. Head trainer Ryan Vermillion has also been placed on administrative leave due to a criminal investigation.

I’ve got UF friends who say it’s common knowledge his wife made him leave Gainesville because he was pulling a Fredo and knocking down cocktail waitresses two at a time. He likes 22 year old strange, a lot.

Shad is still all in!
The "sincere remorse" comment is bullshit.

This is who Urban is and once again shows the difference between the investment success in owning an NFL team (impossible to fuck up) and utter failure in attempting to competently operate it.

I was in Gainesville for Urban's "run" and as mentioned above this kind of behavior wasn't a secret and it obviously continued during his "Mayor of Dublin" days in Columbus.

Urban's first "health scare" following an SEC Championship game loss to Bama in Atlanta that led to his temporary departure was, according to my Bull Gator sources, his wife Shelley calling him out.

I actually ranked his co-ed chasing as a secondary concern behind his recruiting attracting too many players (way beyond Hernandez) that made the Gainesville community less safe to live in.

Now in Jax, he's beach bar drinking buddies with the mayor of Jax.

All this for only a reported $12.5-million salary!

It was weird that Jax ever thought hiring him was a good idea.

I think it was a Ringer article that really broke down that he's neither a strategic wizard, nor a leader of men.

Huh ... I didn't realize he skipped the team flight home after the game. Who flew him home ... Leon Hess?

Given there was a lot of reason to worry about Urban's off-field behavior I wonder if they stuck a conduct clause in his agreement---if you were Khan right now you'd much prefer to be able to safely call this 'cause' and move on if you wanted to.

The team has some interesting pieces. But they are risking all of it.

The problem is that it reflects on Khan’s judgment. His next hire would have to be a home run from jump.

I don't think there could be a more fitting coach for a team that hails from Jacksonville, Florida.

Meyer is the fourth head coach under Khan's ownership (five, if you count Jack Del Rio, who was there when he bought it). It's his most high-profile hire, sure; but it won't impact opinions of his judgment anymore than the previous four

Meanwhile, it sure seems like Meyer has screwed up his chances at the USC gig

Khan owns 2 major teams (Jags and Fulham) the Jags he has hired what looks like 4 bad coaches in 9 years (in a league where failure has no consequence), at Fulham he has had (not including the incumbant when he bought it) 7 managers in 8 years and suffered relegation.

I think he's just a shitty owner.

Seems like he has decided he is done--and really, as others have pointed out, is there enough need for money to deal with Khan and that overall situation? For some guys they need the competition, but Cowher has made it 14 years without it so don't think he falls into that bucket.

Parcells is too old, but he's a guy who I think loves the challenge and typically is up for the payday.

When I read his statement and saw the "sincere remorse" line, my first thought was that he was trying to talk himself into the fact that he didn't make a huge mistake.

Given Meyer's track record, he couldn't possibly believe that, right?

Counterpoint: All-Elite Wrestling seems to be working out great, with his son Tony at the helm.

But otherwise, yes, Mayer is a hypocritical turd and a bad coach/GM, and LOLJAX is a fine piece of work.

Doug Marrone was fine. Khan’s error was bringing back Tom Coughlin, who undermined Marrone and shit all over the team’s culture.

The real scandal with Urban Meyer isn’t that some young woman was grinding on him; it’s that the coach of an 0-4 team decided to take a brief vacation following a Thursday game instead of returning home and meeting with his coaching staff in an effort to improve the team’s fortunes. Khan’s remarks about Meyer’s behavior are suggestive of a man who knows he made a bad hire. He waited much too long to sack Gus Bradley, but Bradley was by all accounts a good guy; I’m hopeful he won’t repeat that mistake with Meyer.

Yeah, one month in and he already looks checked out. And this is the guy who just got an absolute gift in Trevor Lawrence as a starting point. Khan can't mess around here. He has a potential all-everything QB that needs development and his head coach is seemingly more interested in chasing side action. Just a completely dysfunctional situation all around.
