I heard Rodgers hates Schefter / Rapoport and wants to control his announcement this time. Makes sense
Probably true ... but unless he's retiring (or wanting to stay with the Packers), it's anticlimactic at this point, isn't it? McAfee announcing his appearance is enough to set the "insiders" off to hunt down some non-Rodgers source.

49ers seem like they're going to have a pretty big haul of comp picks coming their way...

They have lost...

McGlinchey 5/$87.5m
Garoppolo 3/$72.8m
Omenihu 2/$20m
Ebukam 3/$27m
Ward 2/$13m
Moseley 1/$6m
Ridgeway 1/$3.3m
Brunskill TBD
Al-Shaair TBD

Per OTC, they're on pace for a comp 3rd, 5th, 6th & 7th (Hargrave cancels a 3rd & Darnold cancels a 6th). It's a bit outdated. Omenihu might turn that 7th into another 5th.

I was reading that they have 7 this year. Don’t know if that was discussed here or somewhere else.

Yeah, 4 for players, 3 for minority hires (McDaniel, Saleh, Mayhew/Carthon).

I think they get 1 in '24 for Ryans & maybe another one for Carthon?

What is the NFL record for career receptions without a touchdown? Because Lazard's got to be up there at 169.
Lifetime, not including spans that were later broken, and of strictly receiving TDs, RB Gerald Riggs, at 201. By a WR, it's actually an active guy, Ben Skowronek, at 50 receptions. By a non-RB or WR, it's TE, one-time tackle, Bob Adams at 61, who I guess didn't pay his dues.

For the wild interpretation, the most receptions without a rushing TD is Larry Fitzgerald's 1,432.

Now everyone except for Aaron Rodgers is being kept in the dark...

He’s my favorite non-Pats player (non-Rodrigo Blankenship division). Even if he sucks I want him.
A few years ago my nephew did a week long sports journalism camp here in Chicago. Each day an athlete would come in for an hour, do a mock press conference, get interviewed by one kid…basically give all the kids something to write about that day. It was very cool.

Montgomery came one day and stayed all morning through lunch. Talked to every kid who wanted to chat, signed as many autographs as he was asked for. Sounded like he was genuinely interested in sports writing and completely generous with the kids. When my nephew told me this, Montgomery immediately became a favorite. I hope he makes every penny on that contract and lands a bigger one after.

So apparently one reason Slay is getting cut is that he wouldn't budge off his demand for 3 more years of guaranteed money from PHI. Once that happened he was gone, which makes sense given he's 32 and they're in a prime spot to draft a top corner.
