This is sad, man. Lazard is a fine player, Lewis and Cobb are awful, Aaron is just alpha dogging the Jets to the extreme right now.
Lewis is actually a very good blocking TE, he's not a passcatcher, but he's good in pass-pro and VERY good in the run game.

Yes yes, and the Commanders should be the Maryland Commanders.

49ers should be Santa Clara 49ers. Can you draft a petition for geographic truth? I will happily sign.
You’re the type who grew up in Holden but tells everyone you’re from Boston.

So the guy who guest hosted Jeopardy and is now on Season 2 of “Look at me! Look at me! Football Bachelor” isn’t a fame and attention whore? Good to know.
I mean, that wasn't what I said, but go off Bunnz.

Josh McDaniels totally not repeating history and running all of the talented players out of town.

We’re at “traded away Brandon Marshall” on the timeline if anyone is keeping score at home.

But why? Must be some red flags? They just gave him an extension.
If healthy, he's a better receiver than Meyers (yes, I know they play different positions) but he's only played 20 games the last 2 seasons and he'll turn 31 early next season.

Wonder if they'll deal Renfrow.

I'm shocked people are shocked by Waller. He had 2 great years, then two down years and has been injured. I'm surprised they got a 3rd rounder for him.

The WR market is trash. Waller is probably the best “receiver” that is going to move this off-season, injured or not.

It looks like there's about 4/$52m left on Waller's contract with nothing guaranteed after this season for his ages 31-34 seasons. Will be interesting to see how he ages, but it's been a bit rough the last 2 seasons & he's not exactly a good blocker.

ETA: Here's Field Yates saying that thing in longer form...

I assume that Rodgers's very first contract demand was that the Jets have to agree to un-retire #12 for him.

Namath said a long time ago that he wanted AR to wear 12

https://nypost.com/2023/01/19/joe-namath-wants-aaron-rodgers-to-wear-his-no-12-with-the-jets/

"Joe Namath has a gracious offer for Aaron Rodgers.

The Jets legend called into WFAN’s “Tiki & Tierney” on Thursday and made the case for Rodgers to join Gang Green — and wear his long-retired no. 12 jersey.

“I hope it can come true but it’s farfetched: I know Mr. [Jets owner Woody] Johnson’s trying to get a quarterback. If there’s a way he can get Rodgers … I’m a big Rodgers fan, and I noticed that he wears number 12 of course. Man, if we get him, is he still going to wearing number 12? Because that number was retired years ago…”

Namath was informed by the hosts that this would be his decision to adjudicate.

“Well, it’s on ownership. It’s different ownership. Different people. And I’d sure love Rodgers if he’s there. Yeah, I want him to wear his number. We established ourselves and we’ve got a real respect for our numbers, and Aaron Rodgers, God almighty, yeah! It’d be great to have him in New York.”"

#100 might be light for Waller, but he's the wrong side of 30, had injury issues, and his performance is in significant decline... plus he makes a lot of money.
Of particular concern is likely that along with missing games, his YAC has plummeted. That says to me he's a guy who due to injury, age or both has lost a lot of the explosiveness that was his trademark.

Very good chance a better TE will be available at pick 100 as this is a very deep TE class.

I really doubt that. Better for when? Next year?
Maybe. Waller isn't a blocker and missed over 40% of his team's games the last 2 years, while also declining in terms of production in those games. It's not crazy to think someone in the Musgrave, Washington, LaPorta, Kraft, Schoonmaker group could put up more value next year, and certainly more than possible that they'll put up more value when you account for them making $10M+ less.

I'm assuming Waller plays. Anyone that plays will be better if he doesn't play. We can revisit this next year. My recollection is that TE are not generally that good as rookies.

I swear if Rodgers’ final act as a player is to get the Jets to sign a bunch of players and have the owners show their bare asses to the entire world and then retire, I’ll buy a custom #12 Jets jersey.

All the talk about Rodgers possibly retiring this year or next year is absurd. All the drama is completely artificial. He makes nearly $60 million by playing this year, and another $49 million by playing next year. There is no way he is walking away from $49 million next year.

The Jets may end up restructuring him. But he's not restructuring to take less than the $108 million he's going to make for the next 2 years. I guess maybe there may be some structures that make it more likely he retires next year, like if they give him a ton of the money now, but I don't think they can or will do that.

I loathe Rodgers. From where I stand, he’s a selfish, self-absorbed, entitled prick who’s not quite as great as he thinks he is. That said, he does have the opportunity to team build here. He could say, here’s my list - for each guy you get, I’ll knock $1-2m off my asking point to make things work. I suspect he’s being less generous, though. More like, jump through these hoops and I’ll think about gracing you with my presence.

I can hear the AAR-ON chant at Foxboro now
As he torches Myles Bryant and Jonathan Jones wearing Jet vomit-green en route to a Wild Card berth while we’re all wondering if DeAndre Hopkins was worth it or not because Mac can’t reach him down field. ;-)

Rodgers to Packers: You're not giving me weapons.
Rodgers to Jets: Go get me the Packers WRs.
