Yeah, it's obviously a lot more complicated by other factors, but the average value on Jimmy G's deal is $22.5m over 3 years compared to $37.5m over 4 for Carr. For some reason I was surprised to see that Carr is actually about 7 months older than Jimmy G.

Alright so Orlando Brown is definitely not staying in KC, right?

Pretty disappointed by this. We'll never know but even wonder if this was BB's preferred solution at OT
I wouldn’t be surprised if his preferred solution was something like cheap vet (Kelvin Beachum?) + draft pick.

Bill is interesting at tackle. He's basically always been willing to spend a high pick at left tackle but he's also never really been willing to pay top of market to sign reasonable left tackles. And he's rarely done much in free agency at any spot on the line. I think his preferred approach is high picks on left tackle, consistently use other picks on other spots on the line, try to build a good line through continuity.

Basically signing a linemen to a lot of money would be very unusual for him.

Thanks for catching the wide open TD in the AFCCG in 2018 but I’m otherwise all set on Dorsett.
It's neither here nor there in terms of his FA value, but that was a contested catch. The man got hauled down and I am still pissed they didn't throw the PI flag anyway.

I would trade 46 for Jeudy in a heartbeat. Would solve a major issue for this team. Might even be able to move down in 1st and recoup some or all of that value.
Yeah, I was thinking we could get Jeudy for a 3rd plus, but looking over the WR trades from the last few years, I think a good comp would be the Steelers sending Chase Claypool to the Bears for a 2nd rounder. Situations are different of course - Bears were in the middle of a season and trying to actually compete for a playoff spot, desperately needed a WR, and flush with draft picks - but the players value feels pretty similar to me.

Jeudy is definitely a better receiver, but Claypool had put up relatively close numbers his first two seasons. The tradeoff is that Claypool had an extra year on his rookie contract at the time of the trade, and Jeudy has missed 25% of his games the last 2 seasons due to injuries.

If the Pats can leverage that info - only 2 years remaining on contract and the dude always seemed dinged up - maybe they can sneak Jeudy for a 3rd+. But I would assume some team ponies up a 2nd for him.

Fair point. Forgot that he was interfered with.

Yeah, he's perfectly cromulent but that's more of the same in the WR room. Obviously there wouldn't be big $$$ involved, so it's whatever, just not a needle mover at all.

Also Carr has like twice as much guarantee on signing as Jimmy and way more overall guarantees

I was like Bears were trying to compete for a playoff spot? I thought it was a move about the year after, but I guess they were 3-5 when they made the trade...which led to the following discovery...

In '22, Claypool was on the Steelers roster for 8 games & the Bears roster for 9 games.

The teams were 10-7 when Claypool was not on their roster, & 2-15 when he was.

Does anyone know why Wingo didn't get another national gig after ESPN let him go? I always thought he was top-notch, particularly on draft day

He has a huge gig with PFN(Chief NFL Analyst) and Caesars Sportsbook (brand ambassador), so I'd say he does but perhaps not as known by role.

Coming in a few years: Rodgers to the Vikings confirmed. Then Rodgers defrauding California confirmed. Somewhere in there comes the Wrangler ads.

Schefter just said they’re “cautiously optimistic.”

WTF does that mean in this context. Rodgers is replying to their texts? They’ve confirmed he’s still alive? He either told you he’s coming or he isn’t. There isn’t any gray area here.

He also has equity in his PFN deal.

Still have to work out the money/compensation with GB likely. They've been fighting over how to re-structure the deal even while they waited on Rodgers. So probably Aaron finally said he'll go to NY and now they have to finalize how they'll spread the money.

Ie, Rapoport hasn’t been authorized to leak any new information by his handlers, I mean, agent and/or team contacts.
I think you mean they are still working on his draft tweet, which he will then rubber-stamp and send. These reporters have the cushiest jobs imaginable.

Some of these things just feel like teams doing things for the sake of doing them? 230 career receiving yards, turns 26 soon.

Hockenson is an unrestricted free agent after this season.

PFF had Oliver ranked #2 in the NFL for run blocking tight end in 2022.

That's all I got, but there definitely seems to be more to his game than catching balls, especially coming from a team where he had Andrews and Likely in the same room, eating up targets.

I'm amazed for all the rumblings about what would be incoming to the Jets, there has been little (at least that I have read or heard) about what would be outgoing. If I'm GB, I think I start with Sauce Gardner.

Jets have a bunch of draft picks. That's what it'll be.

There's less than zero chance Sauce is involved in anything.

Would imagine it’s a few second round picks. Doubt a first round pick is getting swapped. Packers want to move on and not many teams can eat that contract.

Jets probably add a few void years and do some restructuring to make his contract fit.

It should be a 1st round pick at a minimum but who were the Jets negotiating against?

Why? He'll be 40 this year, is owed a shit ton of money, is coming off the worst season of his career and isn't even a lock to play in 2024. Add to that the fact that the Packers are absolutely desperate to turn the team over to Jordan Love and I think their leverage is zilch. A second rounder would be a lot.

The Rodgers/Ramsey things seem kind of player-empowerment-y. They have preferred destinations with teams they've likely worked out some contract restructure stuff with, & their teams kind of need to unload them so they're flexing to get where they want which diminishes compensation.

No real issue with it.
