Seems redundant. Are they moving on from Sony this year or something?

Seems like a good depth pick for the Pats, I love your starter though, this guy seems a bit redundant but you need a group of RBs

I guess they were pattern-committed to draft an Oklahoma player.

Sony and Harris are both somewhat injury prone, just seems like insurance. Then when Sony’s contract is up, they’d let him go I assume.

They have until Monday to decide on Sony's fifth year, right? BB said the other day, they choose BPA and worry about fit later. This could mean he's redshirted ala Damian Harris.

Doesn't seem to match what Pats want, except for this, from Breugler: only 1 fumble in 500 touches.

Did we want bonus points for going double back-to-back schools?

So Pats only scouted 2 teams?
If it’s these it’s ok

More depth than Lenore Rhine at least

He can catch and he can run over people. What's not to like? Not a home run threat like I would have wanted but still good value. I see him as injury insurance. Our backs have had trouble staying healthy.

Meh, if you're picking a RB at 120 he's fine, but picking a RB at 120 seems a waste of the chance to draft a more impactful position.

Sounds like the second coming of LaGarrette Blount, which would be a great outcome for a 4th rounder. Although I hope he can hit the hole faster than LaGarrette (who I otherwise loved). And more smashmouth football for the Pats, which seems to be a key theme for 2021

But he might make your roster, right? Pats are deep so they might not have many spots for guys in certain positions.

Sony was awesome last year, but because of his knee he’s going to have an even shorter shelf life than most RB’s. I can’t imagine they’re going to pick up his 5th year, this pick is just insurance if/when he walks after next season.

Redundant to who on the roster? Same position, but not the same type of player at all
In terms of usage & opportunity to be an upgrade. I will keep an open mind, though.

So three yards and a cloud of dust this year. With the occasional play action to a TE mismatched on a LB. i can get behind this offense.

More impactful in the 4th round?
More impactful than RB... they're eminently replaceable for free. Hitting on a DB or WR here would be much more valuable to me.

I assume drafted (and maybe UDFA) players will make this roster across the LB/CB/S/WR positions

Maybe there’s an Edelman and Butler still out there

but yeah I would have preferred Bynum

Based on that video, you just know there's a beer and barbecue buffet just out of view in the Bucs' draft room

I wonder if the plan is for Stevenson to replace Jakob Johnson as the blocking back? Johnson doesn't do much else for the offense, whereas Stevenson offers a run option

I could get into a retro pass catching with an option to occasionally effectively run the ball FB.

Danny Vitale is still on the roster, yes? Johnson might be in great peril now.

Kyle Juscyzk shows what you might get, albeit with more of an option to run. Lead block, pass block, catch out of backfield creates matchup challenges especially if you can pair with the TEs in a set.
