Thanks all. I know nothing but I'd be stunned if the 49ers traded the 12th pick and two firsts and a second for Mac Jones. Just doesn't compute. Doesn't even seem to pass the smell test but I guess the draft is the draft and who knows.

That's what every niners fan thinks. But every local reporter with sources is sticking that it's Jones.

I disagree. We have no way of knowing if they are pushing to trade and no one bites or if the player at 15 is who they feel is the BPA.
I mean, sure, they could get lucky and have Fields be their guy and have him fall to them, but I don't think it's likely. The Pats have to worry about ATL, DET, CAR, DEN, PHI and MIN taking a QB, in addition to other teams interesting in trading ahead of them. If Fields was on the board at 11, for example, I'm pretty sure Bill could find an offer the Giants would take to move back 4 spots.

Not the best example considering Gettleman's history.

I get the idea in theory, but it is dependent on a couple things...
1. The Bill even if he has Fields as his highest graded player sees the gap between him and the next highest grade as big enough to justify paying the price (likely at least 46) to move up
2. The teams in that range having players graded similarly enough to justify a trade down.
Say Fields falls to 11... and Gettleman is his normal self so no trade.
Now at 12 PHI is a candidate... but what if they have Horn on the board and they have him as the last player in their tier and BPA by a margin... maybe they aren't willing to move down unless they get a ton.
13- LAC need a OT... do they chance that MIN (who could also use one) won't snipe their guy? And now you're at 14, and maybe you move up 1 spot to prevent someone else from trading up, but maybe you just hold and wait and see.

Did I just hear that Brees is unretiring? I heard something from the other room and cant find it on Twitter ...confused

EDIT- I must have misheard. I know it was Brees saying something about unretiring but there must have been a context

I still think Lawrence is the 3rd best QB in this draft (Fields, Jones). Which I suppose just goes to show how little I know about QBs...

Yes, certainly possible. I just don't see them risking another team trading ahead of them to steal the guy they want. The price to go from 15 to 10 should not cost #46 unless another pick is coming back. But what do I know?

Brees said he was driving with his family before the 2020 season and asked if they thought he should retire. Their answer: "NOOOO!" He doubled-down "but it'd be to spend more time with you." Again: "No." He says he asked again this offseason. They said: "Yea, it's time" #Saints
