By all accounts, Grenier was insulted by Newcastle's offer- offended at being valued at only half of Cabaye.

What a joke. Barring something completely unforeseen, that'll be two straight transfer windows without 1 permanent signing.

Joe Kinnear everybody!

Tomorrow has the potential to be a shitshow of epic proportions if things don't go our way.

I don't get players being offended over their transfer fees.  A club can pay X for a player, where X = transfer fee + wages.  Who gives a crap about the transfer fee when it's the wages that make a difference to the player? (And yeah, I understand some players get a % of the fee, but that shouldn't make them horribly offended if a club pays a lower one)

To be fair, nearly everything's a steal compared to Fellaini for £28m.

I don't get it either.  Ask Clement Grenier.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was just a polite way of masking "no way am I going to that shitshow".  I don't really blame him- club comfortably in the top 10, but with absolutely zero ambition to push onward and a bunch of clowns running the ship. I have to imagine Joe Kinnear is simply a joke to the rest of professional football.

Papiss "HE SCORES WHEN HE WANTS" Cisse has reportedly turned down an offer to go to Trabonswhatever in Turkey- hopefully because he wants to fight for his place in the team.

I really, really like Cisse.  His dip in form has been hard to watch- but I'll remain ever hopeful he can regain what he had for a few months in 2012.  Man was he lights out.

Have you heard this chatter that part of Ashley's plan is to avoid Europa League qualification because it will be a net financial loss for Newcastle?

I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that the club's current position (I don't think anyone else doubts this either)- safe in 8th place- is exactly what Ashley wants.  Look at what happened last year with European football for Newcastle and what Swansea is going through this year.  Ashley wants his investments back, that's all.  Best way to do that is get as much league money as possible without having to shell out extra on squad depth/wages and travel.

EDIT: What Ashley is doing makes perfect sense from a business perspective.  I think it's a disservice however to one of the biggest clubs in England and Europe.

Done and dusted.  As Lee Ryder just noted, Joe Kinnear will have banked at minimum a year's salary before he makes a permanent signing.

Shola will protect us.  A loss tomorrow would be unfathomable.

That does look frighteningly like me.  My Geordie doppelganger.

Everyone associated with the club ought to be ashamed of themselves.  A gutless, gutless performance.  Won't compete in the cups, won't compete in the league, won't compete in a derby.  Joke.

"Hey, Robert Kraft?  Fenway Sports Group is really getting involved in a lot of different ventures, and stealing some thunder.  Maybe you'd be interested in a new business venture of your own?"

If I was a fan of NUFC, I'd love to know how much of the Cabaye £19M he's walked out of the door with as a payoff from Ashley.

I know he's resigned and not been sacked but there's no way a slimy little weasel like him walks away from a contract without receiving something. He's done Ashley's bidding, made a tasty profit on yet another player sale and now walked away with a full wallet, no doubt.

I'll give everyone three guesses as to what Cisse did with this chance.

This is the most consistently entertaining thread in the Gazza forum. I enjoy your efforts, sir.
