They couldn't iron those things before presenting them?

I don't mind the gray jersey, but I think they should mirror the Sox jersey and be done with it.

But, you know, more jersey sales!!

Those are so bad that I initially thought it was a (bad) joke. Good lord those look bush league, stupid, and tacky. It's not only a stupid idea for a new logo and design but it's also executed very poorly.

They've done "dizzy bat races" and similar on and off for years at McCoy.  My favorite is the frisbee catching dog
Really? At least since I've been shooting there, it's been my experience that the only time anyone's on the field after the opening festivities other than the game participants is when Paws and Sox lead their "cubs" in a run across the field (to "The Bare Necessities"). There's the ritual tossing/firing of the soft baseballs into the crowd in the fifth, but that's about it (aside from scoreboard videos like the bus race). Portland and Lowell, on the other hand, have something at just about every inning break. Can't remember the last time I saw the frisbee dog anywhere other than Lowell.

will they be playing the running around the toilet bowl game in between innings? I was always proud that Pawtucket resisted that sort of thing for a while

Why dislike that stuff?  It's fun.

are we so grim about baseball that we have to sit in the stands with abacuses and astrolabes, recalculating xFIP and BABIP by the AB?

I can go to a minor league game to see how that PTBNL we just got from the Rockies looks in the bullpen, and still enjoy a good mascot race.

I don't dislike all those games in minor league ball, I just hate the toilet bowl game and a couple of the other stunts. I always liked that Pawtucket games toned it down a bit, made it feel closer to a big league experience.

Maybe so but still....that logo?

Between that and the Cubs logo, though, I am wondering if their marketing departments are convincing them to be purposefully simplistic....almost to the point you're appealing to 5 year olds.

Well, kids are one of the bigger target audiences for minor league baseball, no?

I'm not seeing the outrage. Most minor league teams have cartoonish mascots and frankly I always found their uniforms boring. They were just Boston with a P. I don't particularly love or even like this kit, but were i one that went to a lot of their games I don't think it's offensive enough that it would ruin anything. Of course, I used to collect minor league hats as a kid so maybe I'm biased. But I've always loved the crazy names and logos for minor leagues teams. It's supposed to be fun.

As stated the biggest offense is they couldn't bother iron them before putting them on display. Wtf is that shit?

Well are we sure this is what their market wants? It's not like they're in Albany or something, this is a market where 99% of the people in the park are pulling for the Red Sox. I'm not sure that they need to differentiate their brand that much.

If they'd come out with some nice, attractive uniforms maybe people aren't complaining, but they came out with Indy league-level shlock when their appeal is that they're one stop from the majors. They had some unis before that weren't that offensive but different from the major leagues; I don't know why they needed to make them as tacky as possible.

Exactly. Also my experience with MiLB is that they're selling that stuff to parents who have figured out that they can bring their kids to a AAA game for a fraction of what it costs to go to any major league game. So yeah, kid-friendly-looking. Probably a smart move.

That's not a Hitler mustache. That's a bear nose. Silhouetted by two dicks.

I can't imagine why this is anything to get worked up about.  It's a minor league baseball logo.  Who among you is buying this stuff anyway?
