NESN360 and Streaming Options

I am in the process of moving into a new apartment, and I will be setting up internet at the new place. The plan is to avoid getting cable if possible. The only live TV I watch is the Red Sox, Bruins, Celtics, and Patriots. My question is - how are cord cutters watching Red Sox games? I see that NESN 360 does have a few options. I am also playing with the idea of getting a VPN and MLB.TV.

What has worked for people in the past? Where do you find the best value?

If you're in the NESN broadcast area, then DirecTV Stream and Fubo have NESN. If you're outside the NESN broadcast area, MLB.TV is probably the best value. If you're inside the NESN broadcast area, consider cable. Streaming isn't really a slam dunk money saver anymore. People prefer it for better flexibility signing up/canceling, no contracts, better customer service, better UIs, and in my case because actually getting the physical cables run to my house is prohibitively expensive.

The best we can hope for is that MLB continues to expand its own broadcasting operation. I feel like Apple has cracked the model with its MLS Season Pass -- they broadcast the whole league, no blackouts. I'd happily do that for baseball - especially in a year where I'm as interested in the Angels and the Padres as I am the Red Sox.

I had been happy with Fubo for the past couple of years, but they just jacked the price up from $69 to $89 this past month without actually providing anything new, so I'm probably going to bail on it soon.

But if you're interested, they usually have a free trial period and every single month I've been able to use credit card offers to defray the cost. Usually $20 with Chase cards, but my American Express cards all have $30 off offers for Fubo right now.

Im in Virginia so I don't have any local options. I switch between YouTube Tv and Fubu. YouTube doesn't have MLB network so I held out as long as I could before leaving Fubu for the NFL on YouTube. Cost wise is the same as cable outside of occasional promo's. I do like the ability to start and stop but id prefer just one service. NHL is ESPN+ and I don't care about the NBA but there seems to be a lot available between the services.
