5 of 16 teams are ACC, although only 4 could make Elite 8 given the tournament committee stupidly put Duke/Va Tech together in DC.

They paired Minnesota and Michigan State together in the 2nd round. They didn't stupidly put Duke and VT in DC. With a ton of teams in the tourney, it's unavoidable once the 2nd weekend hits.
It really wasn't well done though. With 7 teams from the ACC, they basically could have avoided any potential matchups until the Elite 8. I know the committee doesn't really care about that but it wouldn't have been difficult to set up. UNC and UVA don't have a single ACC team in their region. There were 3 in the East.

Of course, the ACC had a pair of 4 seeds, and given that they also had 3 one seeds, there had to be one matchup in the Sweet 16.

Kind of amazing to me that Oregon (as a 12) is the only team below a 5 seed.
I wrote this in the second round thread but the minimum seed total for the Sweet 16 is 40: 1x4 + 2x4 + 3x4 + 4x4 = 40. This year's Sweet 16 has a combined total of 49: 1x4 + 2x4 + 3x4 + 4x2 + 5 + 12. I wonder if it is the lowest ever.

Edit: 2009 was the only other time all 1s, 2s, and 3s made it and also had an identical cumulative seed of 49

There also was a possibility of a Big Ten matchup in the South with Purdue/Iowa.

There is also the committee sticking a chalk 4 seed in the path of the #1 overall seed that had already beat that #1 overall seed, in the geographic hotbed for that #4 seed. When there were 2 other regions that didn’t have an Acc team in them. Kinda weird.

They also put Kansas in UNC's bracket for a potential matchup in Kansas City and the #2 seed(UK) in their region beat UNC.

Just more evidence of the overwhelming anti ACC bias in this world

Checking scores while ESPN shows the booth video instead of the Sox game - the blowouts continue. Maybe FSU can make a run and make it interesting

Announcers going crazy over a blocked shot that they don’t even notice that the FSU defender’s arm whacked the face of the Gonzaga player on the way to the ball.

That was a terrible play---you can't use that much time. I get one pass, but the second feels so questionable.

I guess if they get it back to 0.6 it might still work.
