I'll never understand why so many coaches pass on the 2 for 1 possessions in the final minute. Inexcusable.

Notre Dame chooses now to go away from what works.  You have to fucking penetrate and look for the pass.  One on one bullshit, and trying to take contested threes won't get it done.

Seriously, if ND loses this game, their last two possessions are the game. Just awful. They stopped playing. Completely stopped.

Yup. Just stopped executing. Missed a couple big free throws a bit earlier too.

God dammit, the entire last 60 seconds, ND did absolutely nothing. And now Cuntucky has a chance to win at the buzzer.

I would foul and play for the win on offense.

This.  All day.  This.  You can't let them take it down to 15 seconds, get it down low to Towns and have him score with like 5 seconds left.  That's the worst case scenario.   Kentucky only has a one and one right now too.  They might miss the first free throw.

Not just the last few possessions. Ever since that timeout where Kentucky got the easy layup on Notre Dame just vacating the lane...the one where the sideline reporter talked about Brey saying they needed there straight stops. :D

Although, Notre Dame getting 11 points was probably the easiest money I've made in years.  I've been saying since the brackets came out that this was going to be the game that Kentucky was going to be tested, and if I had any nuts, I would have a put a shit ton of money on it, but alas...

Kentucky won the national championship tonight.
So ND is far greater than Wisky and possibly Duke? I take Wisconsin by 2 next Saturday.

Well that didn't take long for Calipari to say they didn't play well because they had a lot of freshman out there. He puts up that quote every year in the tourney.

Keeps him safe from criticism - at least in his own mind.

With 1 minute and change to go why not go 2 for 1 possessions??? Instead they take forever to get the play going and in the end don't even get a shot on the rim. The game was totally screwed from there.

The thing is, this Kentucky team ISN'T like the normal Calipari minor league squad, it has actual upperclassmen that start.

Kentucky are great villains, I hate Calipari so, so much, and I would like nothing more than to see them lose. I don't deny how good they are, but man, do I want to see Cal lose. I only caught the tail end of the game, were they bullying ND, because reading the thread it sounds like they were.

Notre Dame isn't better than Wisconsin or Duke (well, maybe Duke), but IMO, they match up way better with Kentucky than either of them.  I've been repeating this mantra for two weeks now, but to score on Kentucky, you have very few options.  You can't get open threes and jumpers in your half court set, and you can't go to the post against them.  You have to dribble, penetrate and look for the pass (either underneath or kick out) to get shots.  You have to have guards that can penetrate like that, and Wisconsin and Duke don't have guys like Grant and Jackson that can do that.

Defensively, I think Wisconsin, and maybe even Duke, could do what ND did tonight, but I don't think they can score on Kentucky, and thus, I think Kentucky wins by 8+ against either of them.
