Holmgren's legs freak me out. His body type doesn't seem all that different than KD's when he was at Texas, but just something about playing at the center position. Feels like a horrible injury waiting to happen

I would be horrified of using a top 3 pick on him. This game is a perfect example why.

I know the NBA draft is all about potential, but this version of Holmgren could not even sniff a single minute of NBA playing time right now. That seems problematic for a top 3 pick.

His body type is SO weird I have a hard time envisioning it working out at the next level. Hope I'm wrong.

Agreed. Such a unicorn player and not really in the good sense. Will block some shots and play decent helpside D but I don’t see how he scores in the NBA. Absolutely must shoot lights out from downtown.

Agreed. If you’re picking in the top 3 you at least want the chance that the guy turns into an All-Pro, and does anyone really look at Holmgren and see that? Tbh Timme strikes me as someone who could carve out a successful NBA career more than Holmgren does.

Some bad Chet takes in this thread. Certainly not the first and certainly won't be the last.

Survive and advance.

I love watching Memphis and Muree State play, neither of the dependent on the three (a rare thing in 2022). Muree very aggressive, and Memphis very patient. Hard to root against them, but that's the way the bracket crumbles.

Memphis a tough matchup for Gonzaga. Very athletic, 3 deep in the post, very patient, they always try to get good shots. And Duren has like 80 pounds on Holmgren. Chet needs a burger. Fortunately for him, SF should have plenty of good ones.

2nd half Gonzaga is a thing. Timme may have the best footwork since McHale. But I feel bad that his game probably not going to translate too well at the next level. So fun to watch though.

That game was such a stark contrast to the bricklayer's bowl with Piggy and Aggy-SW. Man can Piggy defend, especially Toney.
First to 50 is a thing.

Was weird rooting for so many favorites in the last 6 games.

Greg Oden begs to differ.

NBA game is much different. He's a 7 foot stretch 5 with passing skills.

I am probably in the minority, but I would come back for a sophomore season and find a burger place in Spokane and put on some weight.

Gonzaga has some recent experience with a big coming back for a second year (Sabonis) but I can’t see Chet passing up being a top 5 selection to come back. T

Color announcer refers to Illinois only winning their first round game despite only leading for 25 seconds. But it was the last 25 seconds, “and that’s the 25 seconds that matters.”

Kevin Harlan interjects “That’s what HE said!!”

Not sure if he was referring to the Illinois coach or making a Michael Scott reference, but I choose to believe the latter.

Free throw ability is such a hugely under discussed aspect of the tournament. Arkansas basically won a game they could have lost yesterday by making them and it was rarely discussed. Connecticut won a championship once when it was not the best team largely by going the whole tournament without missing any.

It makes Villanova a serious contender. Teams that can make them in the one and one late really have an edge is close games.

Wisconsin’s Chucky Hepburn just went down with a rolled ankle and I doubt he plays again. Very bad news for the Badgers.

Seems there are a lot more of those this year.
