The 718
Capital showing by the Eli lads. Splendid. Mayhaps I shall don my crew sweater and toddle across Old Campus to Mory's, to raise a cup to these Paladins of the hardwood as the Whiffenpoofs croon.

How gauche of these.... Baptists to think they could vie with lads of New Haven quality.

Purdue had this game won and with 3 minutes left, they totally changed their game and Little Rock has been all business since then.
Actually, didn't you think Little Rock was kind of shitty in the first OT? They completely went away from what was successful at the end of the game and took awful shots, but Purdue was just as bad.

You know what was a big play in that game that will be forgotten, I bet, given what happened later -- Purdue was up 14 with 4 minutes left and Little Rock missed two free throws, but they got the offensive rebound. The ensuing 3 pointer led the comeback.

Yeah, Little Rock stopped attacking the first OT. They were matched by Purdue, who stopped playing with 4 minutes left in regulation. Just a woeful game ending performance.

So now we've got a late game in Denver featuring Seton Hall, a school with an alumni and fan base heavily concentrated in the Northeast, tipping at 10:45pm.

What a straight shit sandwich.

And the excuses when they lose to Gonzaga have already started ...

You realize I'm a Gonzaga alum who likes to talk trash, right?
Seton Hall fan who is just happy to be here after the last decade. Just pissed off that after all the lean years patiently waiting for another tourney bid, we end up tipping at 10:45 (at the earliest) in the east.

That was not an effective possession. The 12-5 thing is amazing. Every explanation I've seen of it isn't very convincing.
The 12-seed is nearly always the best of the mid to low-major conference winners and are playing teams typically ranked toward the bottom of the Top 20-25 who you can pretty much interchange with any team ranked from 15-35 any year. You're getting maximum effort from the best of the mids against teams typically from major conferences who are especially vulnerable or else they'd be a Top 3 or 4 seed.

That's how I've always viewed it.

I guess that makes sense. Is the drop off when you go lower because, do you think, 4 seeds tend to be much better than 5 seeds, or because the number of good non-at large teams is just very very small so there are never more than a couple and they usually get 12 seeds?

Probably a combination of both without overthinking it.

Why do you think Duke-Yale will be first?
In the past Duke has often played in the first game on Saturday or Sunday. Plus, its in Providence, so maybe early. The schedule for Saturday is
12:00 - 2:30 - 5:00 then five games from 6 - 9:30. I suspect they will put the big four programs in primetime from Des Moines. And the games from Denver as the offsets to those games starting at 8:00pm and 10:30pm
This is my guess:
12:00 - Duke vs Yale (Prov)
2:30 - Miami vs Az/WichSt (Prov)
5:00 - UVA vs Butler (Raleigh)
6:00 - ISU vs ALR (denver)
7:00 - UConn vs Kentucky (Des Moines)
7:30 - UNC vs Prov/USC (raleigh)
8:30 - SH/Gonz vs Utah/FSU (denver)
9:30 - Kentucky vs Indiana (Des Moines)

Hate the pace for PC to start. No flex. Offense is too quick. No good looks.

BS second foul on Dunn. The announcers even said as much but also say that the chance Dunn took wasn't worth it. That was a clear great D play. Are the officials not worthy then?

PC offense looks much more comfortable the last few mins. If they can score D takes care of itself under Cooley

Wichita St. looked really solid in that first half. They talked about having a chip on their shoulder for having to be in a play-in game and it showed in this first half.

As was his first. Our offense is so stagnant without him involved in the ball movement. Defend their 3 in the second half and we should be fine.

Their defense keeps them in every game. It's a total team effort of intensity. It's tough to score on them.

Sean Miller (AZ coach) sweat through his shirt in the first half and changed it. And he's totally destroyed his 2nd half shirt with more sweat. What is going on with him?

Gonzaga double teaming more in this half than I have seen in all of their games this year

Maybe trying to emulate Gary Williams. He sweat his way through a couple suits a game en route to a national championship.
