Great opportunities for both Wofford and Murray State to get to the second weekend here.

Because the TV executives want UNC in the prime viewing window on Sunday.
The President of CBS Sports, David Berson, is a Michigan graduate so keep that in mind. Not sure if any Duke grads have any influence but it would be a fun story if they did.

How does Carolina get a game that ended at 11:20 on Friday and get the second earliest game on Sunday?

2:40 in the afternoon is a prime viewing window?

I'm pretty certain that the broadcasting schedule for the first and second rounds is set in stone well before the brackets are chosen. Teams may be chosen for particular brackets with this in mind, but that's not a function of executives at the networks. That's the selection committee attempting to "manage the product."

Congrats to Wofford then I guess for being the corresponding "national" team that had to play late Thursday and early today.

Having the shortest turnaround to get the right to play Kansas in Kansas City is some real crap they've done to a 1 seed.

I actually prefer the early start for underdogs. The worst case for an underdog isn’t lack of a couple hours “rest” but hanging around all day “thinking” about the game. First time I truly recognized this was Providence vs Syracuse in Pitino’s Final Four when Billy Donovan was marching around the hotel in uniform 6 hours before tipoff with his game face on prior to laying an egg.

Maryland appears content to go home with a first round win while calling it a season. I’m not sure I can put into words what Cowan is doing out there......the thought that he’s throwing this game actually crossed my mind and I don’t even have a dog in this fight.

If that's the case why don't they publish the R32 schedule earlier then?

Magee is having a disastrous day from 3. He has the most 3 pointers in the history of the NCAA. And he's been blanked for 27 minutes from 3. That last missed 3 was a huge turning point.

The adds with the bad color commentator who never understands what is going on is going to be the death of me.
