Feel terrible for all the athletes and coaches, particularly for schools like Dayton where this season might have been a once-in-a-generation experience.

Wow. What are we going to do for March 19-22, the 4 best couch sitting days of the year?

SFA, possibly a Sweet 16 team, doesn't get its reward after a season where it had the biggest upset in history. That sucks.

Understandable entirely, but still sucks.

Feel bad for all the athletes. Same for all the states who have cancelled basketball state tournaments and all the other sports. Tons of work without a chance of a title.

Any chance the NCAA allows seniors to come back for 1 more year if they want to?
Anything’s possible, but most teams’ seasons were already complete, and nearly all of them played 30 games. It’s probably not fair to cost underclassman essentially another lost year of playing time so a few guys get another chance to play in the NCAA tournament.

Why only seniors? Shouldn’t everyone get an extra year?
That’s the question. It’s not fair to just give seniors an extra year, though those are the people folks feel most sad for.

At my university where I work, I just met with two junior track athletes who lost their season. They probably will be given an extra year of eligibility, which is great. But now comes the financial cost. Is the university on the hook for paying for an extra year for all these athletes? That’s a crap ton of money. Or will it be, “look you guys get an extra year of eligibility, but you gotta pay...it’s not scholarship.”

Super interesting situation.
