I loathe Michigan, but they're a legitimately excellent team and I'd have no issue if they got in with a Clemson loss. Penn State doesn't belong anywhere near that discussion.
Michigan's goose was cooked when they lost to Iowa; they were doomed after that, so they have no one to blame but themselves.

It's simply not feasible for college sports to have pro-style criteria for playoffs. If you want to be a legitimate contender, you probably shouldn't lose to other contenders by 39.

Penn State has two losses, one of them to a non-contender and the other one by 39, with only one impressive win. They're the fourth best team in the Big Ten, not the country.
Sure it is. Expand to 8, take conference winners then 3 at-large bids. Or is a bunch of stuffed shirts in a room better? Come on. The large burlap bag filled with dead presidents awaiting a change to 8 teams is just another carrot that makes a switch to a more logical and fair system all that more baffling.

I don't know what Penn State has to do with it. Could be PSU if they win or Wisconsin if they win. Will be someone else next year and the year after that and so on.

And yet Penn State leads the conference championship game in the fourth quarter.

I love how you actually play on the field no longer matters. Perfect for America in 2016. It doesn't matter at all what you actually accomplish, just what others say about you and "how you look."

Michigan played, what, 3 games outside the state of Michigan (and lost two of them). If they are so good, why aren't they playing today?

Va Tech taking over at their own 40, down 7, about 4 min left.
I didn't see anything on the last drive that made me think Clemson's defense will be able to make a stop.

The committee should troll everyone and choose Pitt as the team to join Bama OSU and Wash
