Thinking about it more, I am grudgingly ok with that foul call. He was in the paint and got a really good look. He might have made that shot and I think at an absolute minimum that ball was going to get up on the rim but for the push. I am generally in favor of swallowing the whistles but where a team gets an advantage in a situation that big you have to call it. It wasn’t like it was away from the ball.
Put it this way — if SDSU had been down 1 and you had the exact same play there, I would have thought it really unfair not to call a foul there. So if that is my view I kind of have admit that it is a foul and would have been unfair not to call.
