I don’t think UConn and Gonzaga will be too close. Gonzaga plays no defense. UConn does. I have the Huskies by 12+.

I think Kansas State beats FAU by 8 or so.

Hope you’re right in regards to UConn. I forgot how stressful this time of year is when UConn is making a run.

I just want a good game to go with my Saturday whiskey, but I’m afraid he’s right. Certainly feels like a matchup nightmare for the Zags.

While beating Duke for the championship in ‘99 was great my favorite UConn win of all time was beating Gonzaga in the Elite 8 in ‘99. They had been so close before but never could get it done. So all they had to was beat some 10 seed nobody real knew about. The game was intense and just when I thought they were safe the Zags would hit a big shot. Somehow UConn survived and were on to their first Final Four. 24 years later they meet again and I’ll be in the house. 5:49 can’t get here soon enough.

It’s definitely better than the alternative. It’s been awhile. No regrets. Plus it really torques off all the BC fans on here.
100%.

Someone I know just turned 50 and was saying, "it sucks getting old". My response: "It's better than not getting old."

My team (SU) sucks and even though this makes for a stress-free tournament experience, it sucks not having your team in it, and I'd rather right now be pacing the floor worrying about how SU is going to handle opponent X in the regional final.

The winners will be:

UConn by >10 (unless Gonzaga scores a bunch to make a lopsided game appear closer in the end...you know how that can go)
Kansas State
San Diego State
Miami (I think Texas is really good but injury issues might give the edge to Miami)

Not a Final Four that many people envisioned.

I just don't think I'm ready for a reality where the swimming school known as Texas wins a bball title. This is the wildest set of regional final games ever for sure.

Nowell looks like he's buying into his own hype a little bit. Some unnecessary no-look passes.

Edit: And then a fantastic look to the big man.

This K-State team is going as far as Nowell carries them, and no further. He’ll turn the ball over a few times a game on too-flashy plays, but this team is nowhere without the easy buckets he’s creating for his teammates.

FAU's inability to take care of the ball is killing them. KSU isn't playing that well on offense, a lot of missed shots at the rim and turnovers, but FAU going huge stretches without even getting a shot up has been a disaster.

If you can contain Tomlin & Nowell (who jacks too many tough 3s), K St has nothing. Also missed way too much from the line this game.

Greenlee was the engine for FAU on offense, could be tough for them over the last two minutes.

this strategy of not inbounding to a guy who’s running into the corner against a press intrigues me.

Florida Atlantic had no business beating Memphis and now they’re in the Final Four. Crazy tournament.
