It's last night all over again. Clearly off Pierce who was clearly fouled. The foul definitely caused the out of bounds too.

I am not watching... Did they blow this call also?

We'll have an identical photo of Joe Johnson getting fouled as time expired tonight too.

Fuck.

I've been avoiding this thread all series out of frustration with my team. I didn't expect to win the series, but losing like this by fading late over and over just sucks.

Goddamn did they just flat out crawl up their own asses at the end of every game. Old bastards just could not close.

They need to let Pierce walk and talk KGB into retiring or being a bench guy. King probably won't since he gave up so much in that trade, but he should consider that a sunk cost and move on.

They now have to pray that Lopez' rebuilt foot works and let Teletovic play as a stretch 4 and let him do more than spot up 3s.

This series sucked.

Technically yes. It was off Pierce (though he was fouled), and they awarded the ball to Brooklyn.
Both calls were correct once no foul was called. If the ball goes out because an opposing player knocks the player's hand which forces the ball out, possession remains with team who had the ball.

The travesty on that play (and the final one seconds later) was the refs' refusal to blow the whistle on the Heat to send the Nets to the stripe.

That's probably true of tonight, but as for last night that's not the explanation the refs gave for not overturning the call, nor is it the reason the league cited in its statement today.

And yes Pierce should have been at the line.

Ha! There you are... Spurs are much the better team. Blazers had a great year and the outlook is good. No shame in losing to the better squad. It's a shame Stotts waited 2.5 games to put Batum on Parker.

I still want some bench depth added to Portland. My harsh stance on this team was due to my disappointment and my complete boredom with the SA/OKC machine. Was hoping for some fresh blood but, alas, not happening this year. Better than LA though.
Sure. The bench needs pieces, and hopefully some development from Barton, Robinson, and McCollum. They have to come to camp next year with a commitment to improving the defense. Portland certainly invited the garbage comments in games 1&2.

I wonder if this was KG's last game.

Sure looked like it. Pierce wasn't great (except at talking too much), but he still has some game. Garnett looks cooked.

This is what sucks about the NBA. Another year of Heat/Thunder /Spurs. Really no reason for the rest of the league to show up.

He looks pretty cooked, but he has another year at $12M on his contract. I'd be pretty surprised if he walked away from that, but I guess stranger things have happened.

What? Have you watched the playoffs? You haven't been entertained?

Been a great playoffs and, frankly, if it's Miami vs San Antonio in the finals, that'll be a great series that will be a ton of fun to watch. The 2nd round hasn't been as epic as the first round, but the idea that every single series has to be amazing or the league sucks is silly.

The eastern conference sucks. The Western is as good as the NBA has ever been.

The NBA playoffs have been great overall, and the 2nd round has started to pick up. I love watching Miami and San Antonino. They both play beautiful basketball and we'd be lucky to see a rematch of last years incredible finals.

Reseeding the top 16 records in the league regardless of conference at the start of the playoffs would fix a lot of the issues in the league instantaneously.

Before game 5 my brother and I took advantage of this town's pathetic bandwagonishness and scored two reasonably priced tickets to tonight's Wizards game. I'm guessing a lot of real fans who get priced out as soon as the team looks good did the same, so I'm expecting a really fun atmosphere tonight. We've bought $12 tickets for years to watch the basketball version of Natstown, this is going to be bizarre.

I can't think of an EC final between two more unlikable teams.  I hope they both lose and hand the championship to the winner of the WC by default.

As usual cp will escape blame but he continues to prove how much of a superstar he is not. For the most part, everyone did their jobs yesterday. The team was just waiting for the guy praised so much for his leadership to put his stamp on the game and instead he just kind of floated through most of the game. And after handing okc game 5, thats inexcusable.
