To be fair, Celtics-Wizards was a pretty good game until the 4th quarter.
Yeah, the winner was trailing at the half and it was a single digit game with 9 min to go. Not every good game needs to be a buzzer beater to qualify.

Yup, was also very competitive on both ends. The Wizards poor 3 point shooting (on some decent looks, although credit to the Celtics for limiting volume) masks how close it was.

The Celtics game last night was competitive for most of the time, but I wouldn't call it a good game. I thought it featured a lot of pretty awful basketball. Just my opinion though.

I was referring to it being competitive. It def was not a thing of beauty. PP will be having Ish Smith nightmares for years.

Maybe it was my perception from being stuck in a Zoom meeting and tuning in late, so the 2nd half was disproportionally my takeaway. But I mean they won two of the last seven without Jaylen, only beating the tanking Magic and terrible T-wolves. With Beal and especially playoff Westbrook on the other side who may choke late with errant jumpers but a guy who is a useful hard-ass for the first 46 minutes, I just thought a comfortable C's win was less likely than the other scenarios of a comfortable Wizards win or close game in either direction.

Don't put this shit into the universe, man.
Ha. In fairness, the “Cs lose to Indiana in the play-in” part of Nighthob’s prediction is already out, so hopefully that applies my overall (joke) prediction.

25% Lakers lose to GS
10% Lakers lose to Memphis/SA
2.4% #13 seed hits lotto

= 0.06% of the Lakers hitting lotto. And 25% of those odds of landing #1 and Cade. I feel pretty safe saying I’ll eat of loaf of [gross thing x] if it happens. :)

Funny part is that I'm basically cheering for the LAL to fail always, so the scenario where they tap out early is awesome...unless it results in the next franchise player.

Pretty anti-climactic so far, let's see if one of these games tonight can finish under an 18-point victory...
Looked like another blow-out in game 1, but man you have to love the Spurs and Pops team -- clawed all the way back. Should be an exciting finish.

For GS I think you need Curry going for 40+, Green really slowing down Davis, none of the Laker role players to shoot well, and at Wiggins to score at least 20 to pick up the win. A tall task but not impossible.

Such an unnecessary technical foul from Draymond. Just giving points away.

Draymond gets away with so much. I don't mind it, but his standard should apply across the league if that's what it is.

Curry, Davis and LeBron not having that big of an impact that quarter. Warriors right now are hustling and outworking the Lakers but it's hard to think that will last all game. Good quarter for them though.

Dray is too good a passer for the lakers to be playing curry so tight. He's going to kill them on the outlet all night

LeBron, AD and Schroeder a combined 2-20 to start the game. Still only a 3 possession game.

Warriors are GRINDING on defense. Lakers look lethargic. Warriors breezing by the Curry-less minutes.

Maybe they just had a bad half, but LeBron and Davis don't seem healthy and have been weirdly passive when their team is really struggling to score.

A clinic defensively from Draymond though.

Yup. We all expect a 2nd gear but I’m not sure it’s there right now. They look awful.

LeBron 1-7
AD 2-12
Schroeder 0-8

This is fascinating. This team has no desire to be playing in this game. They lose and have to play another one. Must see tv.

Three guys made as if to defend him on that play but he still found way too much daylight in that situation.

Is it possible they are okay losing because they'd rather play Utah and are fully confident they can beat Memphis? It seems crazy to risk everything on one game but I'm shocked how flat the Lakers have been. Doesn't feel like a do-or-die game for them.

I don’t really like Steph Curry as a man in the way I admire Dame so it hurts to state this but I like to tell the truth; Curry’s shooting over years of observation might be the most impressive skill I have seen in sports.

it might be better than Pedro pitching. I am a Yankee fan but loved to watch Pedro because I loved his personality and how it translated to the mound. Curry, truthfully, is better than that, he just is, his shooting and how he gets his shot off is ridiculous. It doesn’t seem like it should be possible.

edit: this was before the first half buzzer beater

Blasphemy! I have never used the report post button before but I'm considering it...
