I figured I needed to step up and lead the way to a series(and NBA title) win when down 3-2 since it was successful in the Milwaukee series. Here is what I led off the Game 6 thread with albeit worded a bit differently given where the game is tonight and in Game 7(because there will be a Game 7).

"The bad juju from last night needs to go away. Epic loss, but this team has been resilient all season and this opportunity is the microcosm of their season. Turn a negative result into an opportunity to do something great.

I firmly believe they are going to win this game and send this back to Golden State for a Game 7 where we have the opportunity to make 18,064 people shut up and win an NBA championship

If you’ve stuck with this team through all the ups and downs of this season, don’t abandon hope now. As a now former Patriot said at a time of despair, it’s going to be one hell of a story."

If you told me in December that they'd have a home game in order to send the NBA Finals to a Game 7 against Steph and Klay I'd have told you that you're nuts. Last night was frustrating and all of that, but look at the opportunity that awaits.

If it helps (and it probably doesn't), the Cs haven't lost 3 in a row since the infamous LAC game where they shot 0.0000000000000000000000001% from 3P land and just before they scored their then-signature win against PHO.

Hopefully we don't see that again.

The Cs are going to get a game 7.

Our 5 - 8 rotation players are due for a hot shooting game .

Get out to a big lead and Kerr will pull his starters early like he did in game 5 vs Memphis & game 4 vs Dallas.

If any team was going to take the long road to a title, its this one. There isn't anything else to discuss except winning on Thursday by any means necessary.

I’ll still make the speeches closer to gameday. So long as we win twice more, the rest is gravy.

(Although ominously my ride into work today featured Gloria. Last team to win the Finals on the Garden floor was, well…)

It would help if they could get contributions outside of the top 6. More specifically Grabt and Pritch. With regard to Grant, he has been bad in both the Miami and GS series. I feel like he is just in a rut. As for Pritch, to me, it seems like this moment is too big for him.

To me White and Smart are the bellwethers. Marcus, under control, posting up, good shot selection, and White just be confident, knock s few down and relax.

My guess is that they're all mentally worn out due to intense stress/pressure and what's become the longest, most grueling season of their careers. They should skip practice tomorrow and go to Boda Borg or something together.

Just keep it simple. If you see a zone, plant Horford at the FT line and let him make good decisions. If a double is coming, pass it and move. If a teammate is getting double, move into the open space, don't just stand there and stare, even if it's Tatum. They can crush this overplaying defense with passing a beat early instead of a beat late, and by making savvy cuts to provide more outlets. Stop playing INTO the pressure. Keep it simple. Maybe work to get Horford in switches down-low to create some possessions of rest for Tatum. Jaylen—simplify. If the lane is cleared out by all means drive. Otherwise, don't be afraid of 10 foot pull-ups getting the defender going downhill. Stop playing into the pressure.

A lot of this does require some shotmaking from The Other Guys but they are all capable.

And by all means pay the Ravens' deer antler spray guy whatever he wants to consult for the next two games.

Love it and think you're spot on. I think keeping it simple is a must. Sometimes guys on this team try to do too much, which was definitely apparent in the first quarter of game 5. The no look passes, trying to rifle it through guys, etc. needs to stop for a couple games.

Just get to Game 7 and anything can happen. Honestly, this 2nd half of the season has been so enjoyable and unexpectedly great. I'm sure if this series goes to Golden State, we'll be disappointed in the outcome but this has to be characterized as a very positive step in the right direction.

Just find a way to win tonight. By any means possible. I don't care if it is 80-79 or 120-119 or anything in between. Just end up with at least one more damn point than the Warriors and give us a seventh game.

I've been all over the place on how I feel about tonight...up until this AM. It is a perfect day here in Denver (AM dog walk around Sloan's Lake was sublime), I fly to LV tomorrow for a long weekend with old friends from Boston, and purposefully booked the flight home a few months ago for Monday AM to ensure game 7 viewing at a sportsbook. Make it so, Celts.

In my experience, if you simply ignore the officiating - just accept the calls no matter how inexplicable, painful or inconsistent - it makes the game much more palatable. Its like the second derivative of no control while watching a sporting event, which you also have no control over but if you can get there, it makes things much easier.

For whatever its worth, I find it to be a far superior experience to complaining about the officiating, which results in nothing but my own frustration.

We are in our present plight because we do not do any part of our duties, small or great; be they turnover avoidance or finishing games. For of course, if we were doing all that we should have been doing, and were still in this evil case, we could not even hope for any improvement. Resilience? Resilience is accepting our new reality, even if it's less good than the one we had before. We can fight it, we can do nothing but scream about what we’ve lost before, or we can accept that and try to put together something that's good. For when oak fought the wind and was broken, the willow bent when it must and survived.

As the oak sprouts from its potential as an acorn, it must diverge, as we have. From Brad and Danny, to Ime and Brad. From Thomas, Kyrie, Hayward, to Tatum, Brown, and Williams. But as the branches curl, they survive the rain’s pattering harshness, lightning’s crashing snaps. We suffer injuries through our dialing weathers, but Robert Williams as our tree’s lengthiest branch, shows what a personification he is of the Japanese proverb, that life’s realities are less important than you fell seven times, than it is that you got up eight.

There are but rings of experience within us all. The torment of being so close, yet so far, in the cruel of sunless joy and winter. The pains of Game 7s. The consistent, elusive taste of being so close yet so far at all times from Al Horford, to stand along and among those of the California redwoods with but two more victories, leaving all in awe and wonder.

What has happened is in the past. Perhaps the branches of this tree haven’t been smooth or one-pronged. Two straight game sevens, and third necessary to win this one with a win tonight, but life in its imperfections requires paths that vary After all, we don't love the Celtics, nor this game at large, because they're perfect, we love them in spite of the fact that they're not. Perhaps it is fitting, then, that basketball is played on a court of wood. In legend of course, Red and the Celtics knew the special, idiosyncratic places on the Garden to get particular bounces. Those uniqueness bonds that tied the floor together, to make the Celtics better. That is the tree of life. That is tree of success. That is the tree of winning. And who we will be as tomorrow’s mighty oaks begins with the further sprouting and growth of today.
