Kershaw got both lucky and unlucky in that AB. Unlucky on a curve that looked like it could have been strike 3 and lucky on a foul ball that could have been hit a long way.

If I'm a Dodger fan, I'm probably ok with the result.

Wow, I thought and still think it was nuts to leave Kershaw in for approx 110 pitches, after the started the game uneasily and had just been running sprints to no avail on the bases. Now the bases are loaded. If Roberts left him in b/c he doesn't trust his bullpen, then how is he feeling now?

Wow, I love Dave Roberts, but hey, now! Are we to decide that he left Kershaw in to load the bases b/c he knew his bullpen stinks? (I don't know a damned thing about the Dodgers.)

Nice to see a clutch hit after watching the Sox series. Forgot what they looked like [emoji90]

If they lose, nobody but Dodger fans will remember that Kershaw got a ground ball that should have been the third out, but was perfectly placed and Seager didn't exactly play it very well.

One of those little plays that happens in a comeback.

Edit: Or, maybe the announcers will mention it.

I know nothing about the LA bullpen usage, but why didn't they use Blanton for Werth?

Kershaw vs Price in the playoffs, what fun that would be.

this is a strong series whatever happens, but I'd love to see Scherzer v Hill on Thursday.

Oh man, that was a poor call. Why not check even after making the call besides protecting the Ump's ego?

oh, Hill would also be on short rest due to rain delay, and they're thinking of pitching Urias in Washington.

wow that would be quite something. go Doyers!

I often have heard it said that there is no "intent" in the rule book with respect to whether or not a swing was checked. I'm not sure that's right.

The rules say that it's a strike if it is struck at and missed. Struck at seems to imply intent.

Well, since we'd be in the World Series, I'd take it.

Did anyone get a Grady Little vibe when Roberts went out to the mound and left Kershaw in the game to load the bases? They'd be roasting him if they had lost that game.

Ok who do I root for that has the greatest chance of beating the Cubbies?
Neither of these teams have what it takes to beat the Cubs; the Giants had them right where they wanted them, forcing a game 5 before that epic 9th inning meltdown.

The Cubs are moving on to the World Series; and in typical Cubs fashion, they will find some way to blow it. Leave it to them to win 103 games and their division by 17 games and have to go on the road for the World Series.

So brilliant for MLB to decide HFA for the WS by whichever league wins the all star game.

Fucking idiots.

I'll say Nationals could foreseeably do it.

To beat the cubs Scherzer will need to find his groove that he has been missing on recent starts. And Harper will have to get on one of his insane hot streaks.
But it is doable. Cubs offense was good for only about 3 or 4 innings against SF. Their pitching was good but not great against an unspectacular Giants offense.

It's a short series. Cubs are at best 60% likely to win NLCS.

I had this exact thought. I honestly thought I had finally repressed it. Nope. Even as he walked back to the dugout. And it was Dave Roberts.

The cradle of the game.
I'll go out on a limb to predict tonight's winner goes on to win the WS. Rooting for LA, but WAS will run the table if they move on too.
