MS Update KB 3035583 and the future

If you're running Win 7, or 8 or 8.1 odds are you have already been offered KB3035583 as an 'Optional' update, as of this month it becomes an 'Important' update.
The description is nebulous...it adds functionality for further updates to 7 or 8 or 8.1. In fact what it adds is embedded nagware which will be used to endlessly remind you to upgrade to Win 10, as soon as that half-baked product is pushed out sometime in late Summer. Now, understand, this is no longer speculation, leaks and outright admissions from MS have told us that Win 10 WILL be released before the Fall, and under their new policies, it's going to arrive with tons of features missing or incomplete,including much of the functionality of the new Edge browser, which will be released later on an ongoing basis. Monthly patches and SP updates are to be a thing of the past, the changes and evolution will be continuous, largely uncontrollable by you and this is NOT a bug, it's a great new feature.
 
If you desire to wait on the sidelines to see how this all plays out...you should check to see if you have KB3035583 already installed and uninstall and if you haven't already installed it, you might want to skip it atm.
 
Hint: If not yet installed, hide it or you will have to unselect it every time you are reminded of updates.

I searched my updates and couldn't find, so I clicked on Search Windows Help and Support for KB3035583 and they haven't heard of it. Is the KB # here accurate?

Hmmm. I'm confused. I do have Win7 Professional, Service Pack 1, but I can't find that Update on the computer. I just got 20 updates and it's not among them. I'll just look out for it in the future, I guess. Thanks.

I have automatic updates turned off on my home computer and tend to wait a couple of weeks to install a new batch of MS Updates, in case any of them are reported to be causing issues. My Windows Update this morning shows I have 21 "important updates" ready to be installed, and KB 3035583 is one of them. However, it is unchecked, so there's that.

My Windows Update this morning shows I have 21 "important updates" ready to be installed, and KB 3035583 is one of them. However, it is unchecked, so there's that.

I've unchecked this update and set it to "hide".

I'm really not a fan of how Microsoft obscures what the true content of the update is on these things. When I read the description for this one, it just said something about general enhancements or some other uninformative garbage.

ROTF...MS is nothing if not persistent. I had inadvertently installed KB3035583 when it was 'optional' 2 weeks ago, then uninstalled it (that does actually work properly) and hid the update.  When they elevated it to an "Important" update, they invalidate your hiding of the update and offer it again, you have to hide it again.....wonder if they will have the nerve to ever classify it as 'critical', actually unlikely...
