I was watching on my PS3, and only noticed one time when the picture froze for about 5 seconds. Other than that, I had good HD quality all day. Though I do wish it had cut out before the bottom of the 9th.

Anyone have a Samsung Smart TV? We recently received one as a gift and I was looking forward to running the MLBtv app on it but it doesn't workt. According to the MLB website it says it supports Samsung but when I run the app on the actual television I keep on getting an error.
Yes, I'm in the same boat as you. The MLB website has not yet been updated to reflect this, but it came out two days ago that Samsung has not yet updated the MLB.tv app to work on anything other than the 2012 (or E series) tv's. Whether they do or not remains to be seen.

Alright, I got a complaint. As the game progresses and gets into the middle and later innings, my feed starts getting choppy. There will be a second long pause every 8 or 10 seconds. This is happening right now and it happened on Sunday.

Is anyone else experiencing this? It's incredibly frustrating and it feels like some sort of torture tactic.

Somewhat related, another complaint. When watching gameday online the commercials are ridiculously loud, and for the life of me I can't figure out how to mute them. Anyone else experiencing this?

Just had my first laptop experience with MLB.TV instead of the PS3, and I noticed the same thing. The choppy feed started in the 8th inning. No such problem with the PS3 app.

Interesting. I'm now playing around with the XBOX app and I dont think you can switch the quality. Perhaps the option to change feed quality on the computer causes those annoying pauses.

Also benefit, no commercials, no nexdef, just baseball.

I have a Roku and both yesterday and Sunday games were continuously interrupted by the infamous Roku message, "Loading Data Please Wait." My connection, which is 40/5 tested fine and at full spec. I have to believe it's MLB's usual early season glitches.

I have to say that mlb.tv on my kindle fire is pretty sweet. I was never a fan of using the laptop in bed, but the pic on the 7" fire tablet is awesome.

I think the ps3/ xbox apps simply stick you on the best feed your connection can handle moment to moment- i still get the around-8th-inning thing on my ps3 occasionally think bc thats around when internet traffic spikes- 930.

Also, not sure if everyone knows about park sound on mlbtv? I fucking love it. You have to be on the home feed but you "select audio" > "park sound" no announcer, just crowd and baseball noises.

Holy shit, seriously? We've been saying this needs to be an option on televesion broadcasts for years now. Sweet.

And as to your 1st point, I think so too. And I'm alright with that. I don't need the option of HD quality if my internet is shit, which it is.

I've had the same issues. It's been running seamlessly on my laptop four feet away from the Roku, so it's certainly not the wireless/internet connection. Hopefully they get this resolved soon; it didn't seem to have any problems during spring training.

My Roku showed no issues at all during either of those games (watched both start-to-finish), and we have a slower cable connection ... not sure if that helps at all, but maybe there's some troubleshooting to be done on your end?

Well, it's wired and I moved it off the Gb switch and directly into a router port. I also swapped the ethernet cable. No change. Any suggestions?

My Samsung BluRay stutters when playing via my VPN. The stuttering is minimized when not using my VPN. However, when viewing games via laptop connected to my TV, flawless...VPN or not. The picture is dramatically different this year, even when not bothering with the NextDef plugin.

Money well spent.

Just a view from overseas...I bought the monthly premium package today in order to start watching from the home opener and I have to agree with most that the quality is outstanding and this is running on a wireless network at home into a 6-year old, crappy spec Dell laptop. When cash allows I'll probably go down the Apple TV route but for the moment this is more than adequate for me.

One question...is it possible to listen to the radio broadcast whilst watching the NESN TV feed and if so, how do I change the settings? It was also mentioned above that you can remove all broadcast audio and just have the ballpark sounds but I can't seem to find those settings either. Can someone point me in the right direction please? Cheers.

Move the cursor down to the bottom of the picture and a bar should appear with a tab on the top left that says "Change Broadcast." Click on it and, if you are getting the HD feed (which you can tell if there's a green HD box at the bottom right of the screen), you should get an option for the home and road telecast. If you're on NESN, there should be a button for WEEI next to where it says "Audio Overlap" as well as a button for "Park," which cuts out all audio but the ballpark.

"Park" is only available with the home broadcast feed for some reason, which sucks because I prefer to avoid all of NESN's promotional cut-ins and Twitter crap, but at least you don't have to listen to the bs.

Does anyone know if the Fox blackout rules are the same this year? It looks like Fox has games on at all different time slots this year, so are they still only blacking out games while they're broadcasting or are they doing something terrible like blacking out all Saturday games?

I've been using the PS3 app since last season and so far I've used it exclusively this season. I'm encountering an issue with the audio feeds today that I haven't noticed before. Specifically, if I've got the broadcast on the NESN feed and the audio set to either Park or WEEI, my settings will stick for a few innings but then (always after a commercial break), the audio will be switched to Don and Jerry. Has anyone else noticed their audio feed automatically switching to the broadcast default?

I tried to find the radio overlap last night on my Mac and could not. I do have mlb.tv premium.

It's not available on the Ipad AFAIK.

You need to have NextDef installed to get park sounds or radio syncing.

I don't know if the lag with NextDef is as noticeable this year. Last year it made it impossible to game thread/hang out of Twitter as you were 2-3 pitches, FWIW.

this is all correct, there is a lag with nexdef, but that's how you get other audio options.

Does anyone know if it's possible to watch archived games using the mobile At Bat app? As far as I can tell you can only get live games, but I can't find any information anywhere that actually says that.

Yeah, don't know about other platforms but on the IOS version you just go to "Videos" for a particular day's game and you should see the home and away feeds along with a condensed game at the top above all the in-game highlights.

Yeah, I'm on Android and all I see in the list of videos are the highlights with the condensed game at the top. No full game feeds. Am I crazy?

Here's a screenshot for the video list of last night's game:

To get the current game video, you click the tv looking icon at the top. Maybe that works for archived games as well? Can't confirm at the moment as I'm not on wifi.

Yeah this is the the downside to the audio overlays, at least in the PS3 app--the stream has to be in HD quality to work, but the app automatically knocks you down to the best possible connection to keep it running When your connection slows occasionally it will knock you off HD and thus back to the default audio (the regular home feed).

I've had the same issue, haven't been able to find a way to have it stick or at least buffer for a bit to stay in HD so I don't have to manually switch back.

Anyone else hitting any snags using HideMyIP to watch within New England? I had used it w/out issue until tonight - I just tried to use it to catch the end of tonight's game and even tho it says I have an IP in the UK, I'm getting the blackout message.

edit: nevermind....seems to be working again....dunno what the deal was.

Occasionally I have this issue. If I log out of the MLB.com site and then log back in while the proxy is active it usually stops blacking me out.

Yeah, you need to be an MLB.TV subscriber to watch the condensed games. Even if you are, though, it doesn't appear that the condensed games are available outside of the MLB.TV website. Whether using Android, Roku or PS3 I only see the condensed games on the website.

I don't believe Park audio is available via Roku or Apple TV. As far as I know, it's only available on the web, PS3, and Xbox 360. According to the MLB.TV FAQ the Park audio requires the NexDef plug-in, but obviously the PS3 and 360 have this option without NexDef. I'm really hoping the Airplay Mirroring in OS X Lion works smoothly, because having a 1 click solution to get my computer screen seamlessly on my living room is the most feature-rich way to watch the game.

Anyone else getting a very odd NESN feed of tonight's game? MLB.TV cut back from the commercial screen to Orsillo and Remy recording their transition to NESN daily, assuming a Red Sox loss tonight and moving on to discuss Sunday's matchup. I guess I'm wondering if this happened for the regular NESN watchers as well, this might be the wrong thread for that.

EDIT - there were also some odd moments just prior to the first pitch, with Orsillo reading the lineup with an odd split screen setup, which repeated itself just before Hamels through the first pitch to Aviles.

They record their brief postgame bit during the game fairly often, and it's frequently shown erroneously on MLB.tv.

Not necessarily mlb.tv related, but I'm at my wits end in regards to the commercials that play out loud via Gameday even though my computer is muted. Does anyone have any sort of solution to override this?
