I think the only Cubs I have any dislike for is Lackey with his histrionics, and Maddon for thinking his glasses make him an honorary Hanson brother. Theo maybe if that recent profile of him that made him look like such a schmuck was accurate.

Lackey reminds me of Paul O'Neill and Kevin Youkilis. You're not a passionate competitor, you're a tantrum throwing dick.

Holy hell in watching it muted but Pete Rose has a fivehead.

Foxboro
Cleveland down 1-3 in the NBA Finals and came back.
Cleveland up 3-1 in the MLB World Series.

Hope they can end this in game 5.

Baez is such a cocky dick for such an average player

And running into an out at 3rd.
And Kipnis forgetting how to field in Game 2.
And missing the cutoff man leading to a run.

But your pitching has covered up any shortcomings.
Yep. Davis pushing and getting thrown out was past the line that separates aggressive and stupid. Kipnis had an iron glove evening thanks for reminder. And yeah the missing cutoff was as dumb as Davis missing the easy double play the other night.

All I was trying to point out was how freaking good your pitching has been.
Kluber is the best starter that no one ever talks about as one of the league's best starters.
Allen is the best closer that no one ever talks about as one of the league's best closers.

Agreed. In a weird way I think Allen likes the low profile that Miller's spotlight affords him. His going to the front office on his own initiative to say "whatever makes us better" was huge. If someone said "that Sizemore is too old and sad, pick a navy, I might go with Allen, he's a stud and puts the team first.
Maybe the spotlight on Miller lets Allen sneak up on people some.

To think that us Sox fans were thrilled to face Cleveland and happy that avoided Texas and the WC play-in team.

Yeah.

That bow tie on Rose makes him look like the Good Humor Ice Cream Serial Killer.

And Games 6 & 7 at home.

I know the '04 Sox are the last team to win a Game 6 & 7 on the road, but when's the last time it happened in the World Series?
1979 "We Are Family" Pirates in Baltimore (after winning Game 5 in Pittsburgh).

A-ROD WITH THE BURN OF THE YEAR ON ROSE! Broadcast showed old Pete Rose on WWF clip--"You know what I learned about you? You'll do anything for money!"

I'm telling you, Thomas and Rodriguez want to cave that dude's skull in. He's a condescending shit.

I can't imagine how I'd feel paying a couple of grand to get into Wrigley for one of these games and get kicked in the balls like this. There has been practically nothing for Cubs fans to cheer about these two games.

Imagine if Bartman threw out the first pitch before Game 3, before these two shitshows. He might have to move to Luxembourg.
He never would have done it.
He's a good dude and a great fan, and his life has been ripped apart. The first time he would consider appearing would be at the victory parade.

I think the more interesting thing is that all the people suggesting it pretty much assumed that the Cubs could start planning the victory parade already.

One note on the 79 Series: The Orioles had to use a DH even at home because league rules alternated if the DH would be used each year. FWIW The Royals had no DH at home in 1985 either (the last year that rule was in effect).

Pete Rose signs at this place in Vegas. There was nobody lined up and I went in there with my kid. I told them he was a baseball player from Canada, just a kid etc. Handler said, "Pete loves kids. I was almost ready to buy a picture, of course only my son can go in. 'He cannot ask any questions'

Only William Shatner compares for a celebrity squeezing every cent out of the fans.

No, I don't think so. He's definitely never done pbp anywhere.

In any event, A-Rod is really likable as a pre/ post game desk guy but he's still pretty green. He's not really a natural, he's playing a part. Seems nervous. He'll get better though.
If you had to sit next to Pete Rose you'd be nervous too.

I thought he did color in the booth at some time during the post season last year, but it's possible I'm misstaken. I do remember thinking he was head and shoulders above HR. Those must have been different voices I was hearing (checks label on meds).

In any event, hearing him talk about the game has been a pleasant surprise. I am totally cool with leaving the glove smacking stuff behind.

I have the same memory. He stepped in for one inning and was outstanding.
