Enjoy it, man. Enjoy the anxiety and everything. And hopefully the ultimate payoffEnjoying this.
My son has a scouts camp out this weekend. Was part of the skeleton crew that set up Friday and camped out. It got cold. Wife and daughter couldn't sleep it was so cold they went home at 1 am. I "watched" the game on MLB Gameday sitting by a dying campfire.
Overtaxed my rebuilt knee today and we brought the kids home got them into bed. Got my Party at Napoli's t shirt out of the mail, got some painkillers and some whiskey.
Damn, I had one winter campout with the scouts a a kid, froze my butt off, and swore I'd never shortchange myself on cold weather gear. I made good on that promise to myself. We were equipped to handle about 40 degrees last night it got down to 27. Kids had a blast today but between exhaustion and a really sore knee I didn't fight the wife's suggestion to pack up the tent and come home after the last Scout activity.
I'm really just enjoying this team. They're a really likeable team, and their low ego "whatever it takes" demeanor really resonates with me. Like the old line about its amazing what you can accomplish if no one is worried about the credit.
And the Party at Napoli's shirt is actually pretty soft.
