I was away at the time, and I guess it doesn't matter now. But was that the right time to pull him?Josh Tomlin's playoff performance is the most surprising thing I've seen in a long time. He kinda stinks.
In Playoff Tito We TrustExtra innings is not an exciting prospect for Cleveland. Want to get the batter out.
+1BOOM RIGH TIN THE FUCKING DICK PLAY OFF TITO EAT IT JOEY WACK
I was away, as well.I was away at the time, and I guess it doesn't matter now. But was that the right time to pull him?
When Baez came up, he swung at everything, and swung for the fences constantly. He's cut it down somewhat, but we see what happens in a big pressure situation.Oh Jeez, swing at a pitch at your eyes why don't you?
Great game.
Also in Cody Allen. That guy's been something. In Playoff Tito We Trust
I was wondering how he shaves. When did Covelli get a Lemmy-esque face boil?
There really wasn't a need to pull Tomlin in the 5th with 2 outs and a runner on 2nd with Montero coming up. It's a new world when a starter can retire 14 of 17 batters, not allow a runner to reach 3rd and get pulled after throwing 58 pitches.I was away at the time, and I guess it doesn't matter now. But was that the right time to pull him?
Fucking Goodellwhy no miserable cubs fans faces? whenever red sox fans were miserable, Fox couldn't take its cameras off their miserable faces.
Everybody hates Boston. Everybody can suck it.why no miserable cubs fans faces? whenever red sox fans were miserable, Fox couldn't take its cameras off their miserable faces.
Because Cubs fans aren't miserable. Their identity is rooting for a losing team. They go to Wrigley to drink beers and tell people they were there.why no miserable cubs fans faces? whenever red sox fans were miserable, Fox couldn't take its cameras off their miserable faces.
I agree. I've been watching this game since the 3rd inning, and I don't think I saw one unnecessary replay of Leon Durham letting a grounder go through his legs. We'd have seen at least 20 Buckners in that amount of time, plus a few Bucky Dents.why no miserable cubs fans faces? whenever red sox fans were miserable, Fox couldn't take its cameras off their miserable faces.

Gutsy. What a performance.4 2/3 innings and you get interviewed like you threw 8 shutout innings these days.
Plus a few Enos's and BoonesI agree. I've been watching this game since the 3rd inning, and I don't think I saw one unnecessary replay of Leon Durham letting a grounder go through his legs. We'd have seen at least 20 Buckners in that amount of time, plus a few Bucky Dents.
In fairness, they were 4 2/3 shutout innings.4 2/3 innings and you get interviewed like you threw 8 shutout innings these days.
They don't even work! [/Elia]Because Cubs fans aren't miserable. Their identity is rooting for a losing team. They go to Wrigley to drink beers and tell people they were there.
Never Bob Gibson or Tony Perez though, and, thank God, no Joe Morgan.Plus a few Enos's and Boones
Only when they were playing the MFYswhy no miserable cubs fans faces? whenever red sox fans were miserable, Fox couldn't take its cameras off their miserable faces.
yeah, but then there were 3 passed balls by Varitek in one inning in a game and they won anyway...really harshed FOX's mellow.I agree. I'd pay big $$ for a game 7, but baseball is too much of a crap shoot. I wonder how many fans on the way out muttered .. "I just blew $2000"I am extremely happy those "fans" paid $2000 or more and got to see zero runs
2 more games like today please
Their pitching really, really has been shut down 90% of the time so far this October. Tough to break through. So a runner picked off in a first and third situation, running into an out at third with one out, playing a fly ball into a triple, stealing an out from Shaw against Schwarber, a move that had even Smoltz cringing....and yet the pitching was elite enough to preserve a 1-0 win in the first WS game at Wrigley in 71 years. It might just be Cleveland's year.
This Montero? There really wasn't a need to pull Tomlin in the 5th with 2 outs and a runner on 2nd with Montero coming up. It's a new world when a starter can retire 14 of 17 batters, not allow a runner to reach 3rd and get pulled after throwing 58 pitches.
It's true. 85% of the world is working, the rest of them go to Cubs games. They don't even work! [/Elia]
Funny, in 1980 I saw Tony hit a HR off a Dave LaRoche LaLob, and thought, "doesn't this guy know his history?"Never Bob Gibson or Tony Perez though, and, thank God, no Joe Morgan.
I don't think I'll ever forgive FOX for showing the montage of miserable Boston fans during the middle of the 9th in Game 4, set to U2's "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For".yeah, but then there were 3 passed balls by Varitek in one inning in a game and they won anyway...really harshed FOX's mellow.
I enjoyed that knowing the sox were sweeping Joe Buck and Tim McCarver's cardinals. Suck it!I don't think I'll ever forgive FOX for showing the montage of miserable Boston fans during the middle of the 9th in Game 4, set to U2's "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For".
If Joe Maddon was managing, the Cubs win that game. The Cubs have lost a World Series game 1-0 once before- in 1918 when they lost to the Red Sox. The winning pitcher that day: Babe Ruth.
Though a World Series could still be celebrated in Wrigley.Wrigley will not be celebrating a World Series.
That Bambino cursed them I tells ya!The Cubs have lost a World Series game 1-0 once before- in 1918 when they lost to the Red Sox. The winning pitcher that day: Babe Ruth.
