It would have been nice if that moment was all they did.  Instead they force feed us Jeter 24/7 and by the time that moment comes it's super overkill.

The military channel had a great show on the Sugarloaf line at Okinawa, now it is showing the Engineers at the Battle of the Bulge. God stuff, beats the Jeter fest.

I meant how pathetic is it for Jeter that Wainwright is basically saying, "He never really could have hit a double off of me. I mean, not if I were trying."
Oh, I see. I misunderstood you.

I hope Jeter takes a page out of Ted Williams playbook and doesn't accompany his team on the season ending road trip and retires after a home game. I'll be throwing up in my mouth all weekend if they ball wash him like this in Boston.

I hate Harold Reynolds.

I hate him more than Joe Morgan and Tim McCarver combined.
I do not know why Fox thought he was the best guy for the job....

The respectful thing would be to announce you were retiring after the last game at the end of the season rather than announcing at the start of the season and thus forcing all this manufactured respect.

Funny how no one mentions that.

Criminy... Gordon is Willie Wilson fast. He was home in a blink.
Willie Wilson. Either he or Ellis Valentine is my favorite non Red Sox ever. God, I loved to watch Willie Wilson play baseball.

I get where you're coming from, but I can see why he's doing it this way. Basically, he wants to play one last season and not go out on the injury. If people didn't know this was his last season, they'd be going apeshit about when the fuck is he going to retire?

I guess it is a bit selfish, but I get him wanting to have his last season and not having it be one that leaves a bad taste in his mouth.

I wonder if he would have last year had he not gotten injured. Too bad we don't get to know.

They need to stop running these guys out for only one inning. They might run into some trouble at the end of the game.
Seeing as "it counts" but you aren't actually going to leave a starter in there for multiple innings at the start of the game, wouldn't it make sense to.

a) start the "best" SP to start the game. For traditions sake.
b) then go to your bullpen guys
c) then go to starters, and get them going multiple innings if it looks like it will go extras.

I hate these hats. One of the cool things about the All Star game is seeing all the uniforms, caps and all. These hats make it look like a slow pitch softball game from the '70s

Butterfield should be fired immediately if he walks onto the field with a Yankee cap. What the fuck does wearing a Yankee cap supposed to mean? WHY ARE WE ALL REQUIRED TO ACT AS IF JETER IS A DEITY
