I can't believe that some people are getting so bent out of shape over a setup guy. He may manage to have four good years in NY, but he has been worth at least a win twice in his career- once in 2008 when he was a starter, and last year. I think that a little perspective is in order.
Can't blame the Sox on this. There's no doubt in my mind if the Sox would have tried to match or go 4/$38M that the MFY would have topped it. They won't let the Sox outbid them. No need for the Sox to raise the price for future comps.

I'm not sure I'm bent out of shape, but Miller's a very, very good.
Especially, or obviously I guess, if last season truly represents how tough he is going to be to string a rally together against going forward, if that's his new level of performance.
Miller was interviewed on MLB Radio yesterday and said that a big factor for him was that his off season home was in Tampa. Signing with MFY permitted him to essentially spend two more months per season at home. At comparable money and years it's hard to fault the guy for going the way he did.
