Leaving in a bit to the studio :)
Then there's this:

EDIT: my absolute favorite call/clip of the past few weeks was the caller who asked: if the Belmont basketball team every plays in MSG, will they maybe go out to the Belmont racetrack and place a few bets?

FunHouse burning the midnight oil this past weekend, pinning the very best of Mike's clips in a single thread.

(the Mr. Rogers/Capt. Kangaroo story is amazing because Mike has no clue how utterly ridiculous even either half of it sounds, let alone both halves told in the same breath)

Virginia

EDIT: Mike currently interviewing Ty Jerome, the Virginia player from Westchester who RTed the clip to Mike and called it to Mike's attention.
Jerome put him on blast by referencing how they've had the top 5 adjusted offensive efficiency. Mike tried to say virginia blowing out nobodies by 40 points skews that, which is wrong. Jerome said we play in the acc.

Funhouse has been on fire lately, but it's also felt more personal, like he's genuinely trying to hurt Mike, rather then the previous more good natured ribbing of Mike's lack of self awareness.

I think he's wrong - Mike will say that no one predicted this because Tiger hadn't been playing this well, but he showed the "hawt of a champion dis weekend - now let's see if he can keep it up."

I think this explains why Funhouse has been more mean-spirited lately. But I'm not sure what bed he's really made -- there's no way this is a money-making venture, is there?

Hasn't big Mike always been a huge Phil guy, even going back to when they were the no. 1 and no. 2 players in the world? This has got to be killing him. Along with Nantz. Which makes it all that much more delicious.

I listened to him Thursday and he was waxing poetic about how Tiger looked, even commented about his snazzy gray cap, I remember thinking he was in love with Tiger listening to his fawning over him. If he’s not a fan he sure sounded like one Thursday.

Interesting. I do seem to recall him being very much in the Phil camp , but that’s going back several years, when he was still paired with the mad dog. Of course, it would not be unlike the big fella to do a complete 180, and deny/forget he ever stated an opinion. He does that in the span of a few days, let alone 10-15 years.

I think I have to go with Kay on this. Anytime I listen to Mike’s show on the stream the only commercials it seems they play are just promos for podcasts from other WFAN shows.

While Mike has a point about the ratings, he embarrassed himself again yesterday. All he had to do was stay retired and his ego got the best of him. Now he is back in a job where he seems miserable. He has become a laughingstock and the show borders on unlistenable. If he wasn’t such an insufferably pompous asshole, I might actually feel badly for him.

He really doesn't have a point about the ratings though. The ratings that are widely accepted as "the official ratings" are the Nielsen Ratings which Kay beat him on. The ratings that come from various streaming don't factor into the Nielsen ratings because different ads are sold on the stream versus the radio. It's like when WEEI tries to use the streaming in their competition against TSH. You never used to hear Francesa talk about the streaming because he was beating the competition by so much that it didn't matter.

Kay’s show has had more of a buzz in recent weeks, though Francesa remains relevant on social media thanks largely to his Twitter biographer, @BackAftaThis, who has rounded up Francesa saying Virginia and Tiger Woods had no shot at their latest championships, among other things.

This has caused Francesa to falsely claim the anonymous man behind the feed “doctored” the video.

Without @BackAftaThis — who says he “hates” Francesa’s show and hopes his account is shut down — it is unclear if Francesa would be that relevant online.
Funny that the NY Post says Funhouse is what's keeping Francesa relevant.

Mike threatened to give out on-air a Giambi caller's phone number, then claimed that the caller had been on hold for three hours.

And supposedly at one point recently, four prank calls in a row got on-air.

EDIT: Mushnick (again) eviscerated Mike in today's column.

He's been such an idiot in this topic. I get that Jones at 6 is controversial, but the idea that the Giants can't draft somebody with an eye towards replacing ancient Eli is absurd.

The interesting point is that the bitter criticism of Jones is coming from an entirely different perspective — that Giants outsourced their QB selection to the Mannings to ensure Eli does not feel threatened.

His point was they committed to Eli for the season. Paid him a ton of money.
Last year, they drafted Barkley because they thought they could win with Eli. If they still believe that, and bringing him back seems to indicate it, then they need to surround him with players. His beef was they used their asset that could bring in a playmaker and wasted it on a guy who will now sit behind Eli. So the plan to be competitive with Eli is blown.
The roster now is not good enough to win. This season is gone. Then you figure they play Jones next year and first year guys don’t win. That’s two more seasons down the drain, and then you’ve used up four years of Barkley’s prime before you can compete

The s Giants dont have a plan. Keeping eli they should have used the three first rounders to get impact players who can help win now.
